Think we’ll get beat

Doesn’t feel like a good build up to this game at all. No significant signings so far, a few key players injured, Akpoms future still up in the air, no Archer, Giles or Ramsey scoring and creating things anymore. It’s all a bit flat after doing so well after Carrick arrived. Think Millwall will get at us in the full back positions - they’re no mugs and will probably be fancying having a go at us on Saturday. Just my opinion 🤷🏼 hope I’m wrong like.

Fletcher?

I think we've still got enough attacking players to give anyone in this league a game, especially at the Riverside.

Forss, Jones, McGree, Crooks, Hackney... any of them have a goal in them.

Jones, Crooks, Barlaser... all have an assist in them.

Fry, Lenihan and Dijksteel are all good defenders.

And then there's the new lads! And Payero 2.0. And the possibility of Akpom surprising everyone and being available.

I thin we'll see Howson and Coburn on the bench. Both have been training this week.

I think it's been a poor build-up, and our squad is weaker than last season (summer or end of January), but I'm thinking that we're going to win 2-1.

I meant Ramsey not Fletcher 😵‍💫
Thought so.

It hasn't been a great build up to the start of the season for us, and many of us are being very pessimistic. Lets hope we can get off to a good start with a win and good performance tomorrow and everything will feel a bit rosier.

We have more than enough to do well this season even if we don't sign anyone else.

We looked a little light up top and weak in our right hand side. We still made lots of chances in pre season against good teams.

I have no idea if we will win tomorrow but we will be favourites and we will probably win.

Millwall will be tough. Rowett will have a well drilled side. I think it is a game where e need to keep a clean sheet to win. The defence need to be much better than last year, especially at the beginning of the season when we are short at the top end of the pitch.

From one fowl board member to another, put a bit of a smile on your beak! If you can't be optimistic at the start of the season then when can you be?

I get we haven't got every signing we wanted just yet, but there's still time for business to be done. I'm quite excited by the unknown quantities of the new recruits. Granted they could turn out to be underwhelming, but equally they could be top notch. I'd rather be glass half full at this stage, let's see what they can do?

I’d say there’s at least 8 teams likely to finish ahead of us as it stands. The 3 that came down are way stronger than us, then there’s the other play off sides from last season, plus two or three others - think Hull will surprise a few this season along with Stoke who’ve made a few good buys and then there’s the likes of Norwich and Watford

If it 'helps' Millwall lost last weekend. I've seen Millwall fans melting down about not signing enough players and worried about losing star players.

Sounds familiar? I think 80% of champo fans feel the same.

It's just being a football fan. To be fair we hardly ever win on the opening day.

Win / lose or draw. It will have little impact on our season and the squad we have come 1st of Sep. Just effects the taste of the post match beers and comments on here tomorrow 😂

As realistic as I am about the season I fancy us tomorrow no idea why just think it will click for us on the day.

It does feel like a very subdued build up. A few injuries to key players.. a big question mark over our much loved record goalscoring player of the season. Being honest.. the recent stuff on twitter, the reactions.

Put all this together AND I missing tomorrow!! Gutted.. first match of the season.. gutted.

FFS, I’m sure we can pick up all the pieces for when I am able to attend.. Chuba, Sousa and the other lads in cool as fcuk kulti tifo all inclusive promotion bonanza!

UTB!!

As much as I haven’t been overwhelmed with our summer (and I’m sure carrick and the club haven’t either) I’m still looking forward to the game tomorrow!
Nothing beats the build up to a 3 o clock kick off on a Saturday. Waking up and putting your lucky socks/pants/top/scarf on and heading down to the riverside!
