The weekend beer and music thread!

I’ll slip a Coldplay song in, might not get noticed this time of night 😛

Shhhh, it's ok... I don't think anyone noticed.

I don't mind Coldplay as it happens, not a mega fan but then don't understand some of the criticism they get either. They're clearly a talented band, Chris Martin is a fantastic songwriter too even if he is a bit of a misery.

That said, I feel about U2 what some feel about Coldplay so what do I know... 😄

Well, that 'Spotify Wrapped' thing is telling me that I listened to mclusky more than any other band or artist this year, so. . .

One of the support bands for Sleaford Mods had a genuine McLusky vibe. I present for you Big Special and their tribute to Sam Morsey. Probably not safe for work but that depends largely on what you do for a living.

Recovering from pneumonia so not really feeling it, but it's the first day of my beer advent calendar so a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.

Have a live version of my favourite Popes track as the musical accompaniment.

Get well soon buddy, I had a bad dose of it in early Nov, knocked the Sh*t out of me. Nurse told me there is a lot of it about and given WeeGord’s recent post on respiratory illness in China, it makes you wonder if something has already landed elsewhere.

Same. Not pneumonia but me and my wife have been laid up since Wednesday with all the symptoms of the latest flu or covid strain with coughing, vomiting, diarrhea and aching limbs. Poured myself a Baileys last night and nearly hurled at the thought of drinking it.

Got a selection of Belgian beers from Lidl that i don't feel like going anywhere near at the moment but that may change if we get a result at Elland Rd.

My sentiments exactly ... even down to the U2 thing. I'd actually go to see Coldplay if they were to play the Piece Hall (they're too massive obvs). But not U2 ... despite the fact that I have actually bought U2 records (Boy/I will follow). Coldplay are pretty much the best in the world at what they do .... write, record and play songs that loads of people like to sing along to and actually be moved by.
