The weekend beer and music thread

Evening folks, hope you're all surviving the horrendous wind and rain... the weather is great beer drinking weather IMHO though and so heading down to Newbiggin-by-the-Sea for a few ales with friends later. No doubt it'll be fresh with the coastal winds and driving rain but us Northumbrians were made for such things!! 😉

The footy is back tomorrow of course and so won't have too much tonight as I'll be driving down for the Brum game tomorrow. Let's hope the international break hasn't disrupted our change in form and that we can have win another 3 points tomorrow to push us a little further up the table.

This week I tried some Fear of The Dark stout for the first time and was pretty impressed so would recommend to those who like their dark ales.

I've been to a couple of gigs this week in Europe at the Sage in Gateshead last night and Glenn Hughes at the Boiler Room in Newcastle earlier in the week. Both were excellent in different ways and really enjoyed them - to kick us off with a music track here's some classic Europe...

 
With the weather outside being so awful can I first ask you all to stay safe and have a good weekend.

Having met with guisborough_rob and sadgit earlier today for a coffee at Kirkleatham, there was only one song I could choose. My heading is still buzzing from the coffee's we had and will need a couple of Jaipur's to help me to sleep. ;)

 
Listened to the new Rolling Stones album earlier. Good stuff.

Off to a local bar for some drinks and tapas with some friends later. Probably a Spanish beer followed by some Rueda white wine or Ribera del Duero red wine.

Feeling a bit stir crazy as it has been very windy today. So not able to play golf. That is why I have been on here all day.
 
After Rumfest last Sunday we've got some friends over on Saturday for a rum tasting evening.

My cabinet will be wide open and a couple of new ones to try including a Single Vintage Diplomatico.

Wish I'd picked up a Boabab & Hibiscus African rum while I was there now, but hopefully the hint for Christmas worked.

I listened to the Hackney Diamonds for the first time today and have just ordered it.
 
I had a case of these delivered a little while back, still got a few left so, be rude not to I guess. Have a great weekend fellow mooners and here's to 3 points tomorrow 😍

As for the music I was thinking of a suitable link to Yorkshire and heart and well it had to be one of my favourite 80’s bands with a Yorkshire connection

 
We have just had home made chicken and leek pie for tea; the other half has had a large Black Sheep gin after a hard day at work. Meanwhile I’ve gone for a Boon Doggle blonde, with Pearl Jam’s ‘10’ on in the background.

Sitting down to watch the rugby now with no danger of falling asleep after all those coffees with Norman Conquest and sadgit today…..
 
Just finished a very late dinner due to a competitive boardgame of Pokémon Labyrinth with the kids overrunning. Bit early for booze so I'm making do with a can of coke zero instead.

As for music, it has to be Ren to celebrate him achieving the number one spot in the album chart this week against all the odds. Fantastic what his fans have done to promote his album and get him there and it's an unbelievable achievement given everything he's going through.
