Its been over 22 years since we last played Bradford in a league game, way back in May 2001! That was in the Premier League [!] That Bradford side was probably one of their best although their stay in the Prem was brief. It may be another "friendly" tonight, but its worth reminding ourselves of the players in the starting line up at [what was] The Bradford and Bingley Stadium:

Wayne Jacobs - goalscorer on this occasion - wrestles with Gazza in a league match in 1999.

Cristian Karembeu scored 4 goals in 33 appearances in his one season with Boro 2000 - 2001.

Bradford City. The club that's probably most like us in England. One club town, a passionate fanbase, a decent ground, a mediocre trophy cabinet and a history of underachievement.

Going tonight, having had the best pre season I’ve had in years due to so many games being close to South Yorkshire. I was just under three years old the last time Boro played at Bradford, so don’t have any tales of away days gone by ala Karembeu or the 1988 playoff semi final - looking forward to ticking off another ground off the 92 and one that I’ve heard good things about!

Great memories

Some bad news for you roofie am going to game and tickets are mobile e tickets
Great comment, however, I think the e-ticket was roofies point. You can follow the thread without a smartphone, you can't go to the match without a smartphone.

Am I right roofie old man? By the way work on your material!

We`ve Met Before

Carlisle United managed to knock out Mark Hughes Bradford City in the end of season play-offs. Bradford have seen an almost complete turn-around of staff since Mark Hughes arrived. For too long, Bradford have been slumbering in the lower leagues and with average gates of over 16,000 still have the support base for the club in a higher league. There are a number of well known faces in the Bradford squad:

Brad Halliday began his career with the Boro Academy back in 2010. He joined Bradford on a two year deal in 2022.

Sam Stubbs joined Boro in 2018 but went out on loan to Notts County. Further loans followed and he signed for Fleetwood in 2020, having not made a single senior appearance for Boro.

Richie Smallwood, now 32, was a Boro academy product and began his senior career in 2010. In 4 years he managed 3 goals in 60 Boro appearances. He has since gone on to play for Rotherham, Blacburn and Hull. Signed with the Bantams in July 2022.

Harry Chapman is yet another Bradford player, who began his career at Boro. Harry never made a Senior appearance for the Boro, but was loaned out to Barnsley, Sheffield United and Blackburn Rovers, whom he signed for permanently in 2019. further loans followed and he joined the Bantams in 2022 in Mark Hughes shake - up of the squad.

I wouldn't say that to supporters of Bradford Park Avenue, who still consider themselves to be the city's premier club!

That'll come in handy: my coach is delayed so I've not got time to get something before the game, and I'm hungrier than Mido on a preseason diet
