- The Unofficial "Official" Match Day Thread. Boro v Tony Mowbray`s Blackburn Rovers -

That photo looks worse every time I see it! There's a chunk out of his flesh there and marks on his neck! Jesus! Are you looking at this ref, you moron??!!!
Exactly it’s a studded boot so what see isn’t what’s doing the damage. It’s a miracle he didn’t really damage him permanently.

The boot hit Dael full in the face and missed his eye by a fag paper.
If it was the ball, it would have been different - because the game is football.
The Blackburn mans boot is attached to the rest of him and he has to take responsibility.
Intentional or not he was at fault and should have been sent off!

I'll give this one last go, I agree with you, he should not only have been sent off but probably spend a night in the cells for GBH. I've said as much through this and other threads.

It was an awful reckless challenge that could have had disastrous consequences for Fry. I'm baffled at the ref.

I was pointing out that he was so out of control with his high foot that he could have taken out his own player, note that this in no way excuse the challenge or consequences, it reinforces just how much an awful attempt at playing the ball it was.

Fair play.
Point taken. (y)

Tony says his team "rolled our sleeves up" and "stood up to be counted".
By my reckoning he should be counting to 10 because he should have had a man sent off!
Dreadful.
I wasn’t impressed by the tenor of Mowbray’s interview at all on Sky. He has to defend his player and no one is saying it’s deliberate but it was obvious just looking at the result what had happened. The silver lining is that thankfully it wasn’t a life changing event for DF.
