#OnThisDay In 2015: Boro Send City Crashing Out Of Cup

An FA Cup classic...

On this day in 2015, Boro turned in a near-faultless performance to dump domestic champions Manchester City out of the FA Cup.

Aitor Karanka's Teessiders withstood an abundance of first-half pressure, with Tomas Mejias making a clutch of good saves.

And in the second period, roared on by a rocking away end, Boro grew into the cup contest.

Patrick Bamford - on loan from Chelsea, who suffered their own shock loss to Bradford City the same weekend - bundled in the first goal of the game after perseverant work from Albert Adomah.

Lee Tomlin then hit the post following a majestic piece of skill that bamboozled home captain Vincent Kompany.

A deflected Frank Lampard effort also came back off the upright as City tried to claw back level, but substitute Kike struck a second on the break in stoppage time.
