Very strong finish to the half

Very tactical so far, I know it's easy to say we haven't been positive enough but we're trying not to give the ball away needlessly.

Decent first half and bit by bit we are working our way in to this game. If it ends 0-0 I would take that and penalties.

That half shows anyone who is still wondering if Wilder will bring success to the Boro that he will do it eventually.
A few higher quality players in this system would be comfortable mid table PL.

We need more pace, stretch the full backs and get in behind them. Spurs defence having far too comfortable night. Spurs, up to now, relying on counter attacks only - something I am surprised at. They are there for the taking. More pace, more commitment more belief needed.

I know it's Antonio Conte but I've been surprised at how negative Spurs have been, only trying to hit us on the break really. I guess it's a compliment to us in many ways.

Tactically it is an interesting game and it shows the difference between a PL quality team on the counter and a Championship team on the counter. I think we have done a decent job on recovering the ball if we turn it over in their final third but at times its like a 2-3 high quality passes (the Doherty/Lumley chance, for example) and they are out and on the break. When we try to get out it feels like we have had chances to break but have misplaced some key passes.

I think we're taking what they're giving to us, the more we attempt lower percentage stuff, the more counter attacks they get and that's exactly what they want.

I was thinking this during the last 15 minutes of that half: we've done it over 165 mins against top half PL teams, with the Man Utd extra time.

If something amazing happened this season I don't think that weekly annihilation would be inevitable. (Yes, yes, Lumley aside!)
