Good for 20 minutes ***** for 70. The team are not good enough to play out from the back when under pressure. 2nd time in a row we've dropped points through a keeper error at Apr.

3-0 down and away from home.
Game over at that point you would think.
But we came back into it and some are saying the equaliser should have stood.
In the end we got what we deserved for that poor first half performance.
But the second half gives me hope.

The fundamental problem with this team is the midfield we are desperately short of both quality and even more lacking in steel until thats fixed with new signings he needs to patch it up somehow.

Fry should never have been replaced by a free signing anyway.

I have to question how Fry and Mcnair have been two of our best players over a couple of seasons.
Yet now Bola and Linerhan are 'better?'. Just because one adds a voice and the other is left footed.
I mean call me old fashioned but I'd just pick the best 'defenders'.
The worrying aspect is today had nothing to do with lack of forwards. It just highlighted defensive and more so CM options (post Tav).

Neither could play in the first match, Wilder probably felt that Bola and Lenihan did enough to keep their place for today.
Whether people agree with that is a different issue, but it's not like either we're dropped.
Fry was recovering from and injury and McNair was suspended.

I heard that interview on the radio and it was poor. Blamed the referee and delivered an extremely harsh criticism of Dijksteel whilst defending Jones and Steffen.

I guess if either Fry or Mcnair come in and do well whist linerhan is suspended it will make it 'interesting'.
Bola is not a LCB. I'm not saying he didn't do alright. Just saying he's not remotely the answer and for now I'd prefer Fry or Mcnair. Although listing to his interview it's Dijksteel who's gonna get the boot 😂
Today highlights the CM issues. That's not anyone's fault as Tav wanted to leave. Yet we basically have 3 CMs and none do the Tav role. I'd argue more important than the apparent lack of forwards.
I still don't really see why we let Payero leave. Tav wanting a chance in the prem can't have been that big a shock. Warnock told us it'd be happening a year ago!

Don't think it was much to do with this player or that player not playing. When a team gets in our faces, closes us down, we don't have an answer. We got monstered today just like we did against sheff utd.

You cannot defend Jones today - he was off the pace and his passing was dreadful - too casual and wasteful. I think the ref was useless - when it was 3-2 and we had a real head of steam one of their players ran behind crooks and launched himself like superman and the ref blew for it - one of the most embarrassing dives I’ve ever seen - it really broke up our momentum because prior to that I thought we would win we were so much in the ascendency!

Also gotta massively question the decision not to take Akpom or Uche to Portugal.
Whilst I fully understand we want shot. We didn't have anyone through the door and we are still paying both.
So today Wilder said 'Akpom lacked conditioning' to start. Yes because he's missed half a pre season. Then 'we lack physicality up top'....... Yup Uche has had a summer off to find a new club.
Again he wants shot of both. Yet not to include them in the pre season is madness. You can still have them in the group whilst trying to sell. I'd rather have Uche on with 20 to go than stick Crooks up top and totally screw the balance of the midfield.

Short sighted from Wilder unless there is something we don’t know.
It does appear rather odd. Whilst both are a bit limited ability wise they seem professional sorts so I’m not grasping why they were excluded from preseason. It’s not like we are spoiled for options right now.

Anfernie and Jones were bloody awful.
Jones spent too much time playing hippy-skippy-look-at-me, and giving the ball away - gifting Rangers at least two out the three goals.
He was shocking.
We claim to have a shortage up front - well the defence and the mid-field better improve or we wont have a "team" at all.
Footballwise I flippin dislike London more than any other English city.
