Engel is limited but he will never hide.

Ayling is having a tough day in the office today.
He seems to be slow to react to players cutting inside him.

If Boro are playing with a back 5 then Ayling's role is to make sure he covers the outside. A player cutting inside should be heading for the right centre back.

Never thought I would say this but Ayling had a decent half.

It hasn't been a great performance but it has been quite sensible, we tried not to give QPR encouragement early doors by losing it in daft areas and allowing them to get on top of us. Then we've played a bit more as the games gone on without creating much.

Ok performance considering our form vs theirs but lacking quality going forward and we still look shaky at the back.

It's called defending as a unit, something we have been guilty of not doing repeatedly this season.

That about sums up the first 45. Certainly an improvement on the first 30 minutes midweek

I know you aren't daft and that you know what people mean when they say that. I would argue Engel is head and shoulders better than what we've got available. He's always got a mistake in him but he's also offers a lot when we have the ball and never hides, no matter how his game is going.

Actually pleased with that.

I think it is refreshing to see us set up sensibly away from home.

0-0 the correct score at half time - and I think we grew into it.

We are still clearly lacking in confidence on the ball, but do think we could nick something on the break.

It’s a very tight game. We avoided playing out from the back, when our keeper had the ball, for the first half hour. Then we started doing it again and almost got caught again.

We are giving the ball away too often.
