* The Unofficial "Official" Boro v Norwich Match-Day Thread *

They are saying on Oneboro that hackney got a yellow for walking off slow and will miss the game on Saturday as it’s his 5th yellow.

Ipswich started like an express train.
We started like a slug up the side of a bucket.
Will Ipswich be able to sustain their form into the New Year?
Team spirit is one thing, but has their squad got the stomach for a fight?
[Serious question].

By all means feel free to think what you want ..... as will I, and I agree we worked hard but we never looked like losing that
Oh pardon me, where did I say we did look like losing that? in order to deserve your angst that is, maybe you were just wanting to feel topper, fair enough despite your misrepresentation of my comment, I am sure you’ll feel great about the dig though, it must have been appropriate 😘

We’ve been here before.

Bournemouth can’t keep up that form…

Sheff Utd are sure to fall away….

Etc 🤣

He got a yellow but it wasn't for walking off slowly as such, it was for not leaving the field on the side nearest to him, as required by the laws. Which is kind of a needless caution to pick up (especially when it's going to lead to a suspension) since it's so easily avoided.

It was a bit more complex in that the ref told him he was being subbed, but the board didn't say that. Yes he did walk across the pitch also, but he's a CM, if he isn't sure if he's getting subbed he has to get back into position in the middle of the pitch. Seems 50% sh!housing and 50% communication breakdown by the 4th official

I loved that performance last night. It was a really entertaining game, both teams playing on the floor. We started slow but slowly came into the game and we were definitely on top as the 1st half ended.

Second half we came out flying and in complete control. They did have a spell of pressure but i thought both teams started to misplace passes, especially in the final 3rd. Then we played the game out well and looked dangerous on every counter.

Really impressed with Greenwood, love his energy and he is always looking to make something happen. With Howson and Hackney in the starting XI you can just see how everyone benefits.

Biggest thing for me is defensively, we have come on leaps and bounds since early on. Everything is clicking and its great to win away any time but to win a tough game like that with the professionalism was great to see. I was watching with relative ease, almost like i was just waiting for us to win - an odd and uneasy feeling being a Boro fan.

We are defending as a team and it's starting from the front.

The first time I've watched Boro live this season and I'm impressed. Defensively, Fry and Mcnair are a great cohesive pairing. Either could have been motm. Vdberg was in the main solid, don't forget that he's playing out of position and how young he is. Engel was my first half motm. Him and greenwood work well together, he's was unlucky not to score. HH ran midfield, you could see howson was a little match rusty. Isaiah had a quiet night, but was always a threat. Crooksy supported Isaiah well and generally was looking to get the forwards away. A special mention of Josh Coburn. He doesn't leave anything on the pitch. He was up against 2 'old school' centrehalves and battled away tirelessly. Watch live you can see this, but on TV it can look different. Great that he has the vision and thought to see greenwood in a better position and pass rather than shoot. Well done Boro.

Tough drive home, fog, floods and road closures on way back to middlesbrough. Worth it though excellent.
The distance our fans travel is flipopin amazing. Even at the start of the season where we werent performing. Whether its Norwich on a cold Tuesda night, Southampton at noon on a Sunda or anywhere else - we are there!
Get in!
