* The Unofficial "Official": Boro v Millwall. Match-Day Thread *

They think the battle in midfield is where it will be won or lost, trying to stifle our play.
That's probably correct. Although Carrick has improved our midfield, if they can press Howson and Hackney the way Brighton and Burnley did then we'll struggle. It's a big "if" though because they're not Brighton or Burnley.
Under Wilder, if any team pressed Howson we had problems because Howson didn't have an out ball plus everyone else was meant to charge up the pitch meaning that we could easily be turned over. We're more resilient now because Howson has Hackney as an out ball plus our defenders are making themselves available rather than bombing up the pitch.
It will be a good battle; we'll learn a lot about whether Carrick can sustain his improvement against the top teams in the league now that they have more of a handle on how we play.
Last season, when Blackburn showed the rest of the league how to beat us, Wilder struggled to respond. This match against Millwall is probably the same inflection point.

Good evening Sir.
I hope you are well and looking forward to tomorrow.
Millwall dont concede too many, but dont score too many either.
My tea-leaves say 2-1 Boro
(y)
Now that's interesting roofers. My algorithm says a hatful of goals. 4-1 boro. Did you know you would be rich if you backed boro to win after they go a goal down?

Just mcnair for lenihan again. Hoppe on bench again, no sign of muniz. Bilongo on bench as well. No Jones.

Wouldn't read anything into the selection on the bench. We can only name so many in the matchday squad and you'd hope that was based on how they've trained.
