* The Unofficial "Official" Boro v Hull Match-Day Thread *

Everything was flat tonight even after a gift of an early lead. Dijksteel in the worst form of his boro career Barlaser as strong and competitive as a fairy and crooks with a touch and finesse of a Sunday league forward. Whats the most galling is they were shockingly bad as well and we lost

I think some of us are just on edge and too easily frustrated, because we've had a couple of rough games recently, but now we're ahead against a poor side and we don't want to see this opportunity wasted. UTB

This was my response earlier when another poster pointed out the prevalence of negativity on the board at 1-0 up.

It gives me no pleasure whatsoever to reflect that we did indeed end up throwing the game away and engendering more deserved negativity. You see, some of us are permanently damaged by many terrible results like this through the years, and as a result we can't enjoy it even when we're ahead.

We should have won that.
How we can put in that performance and not come away with at least a point is baffling.
One issue we had last night was the number of times our players spooned the ball high and wide.
We need some of our quality players back as soon as we can and might need to reconsider our loan-in policy in January.
I hope I`m wrong and we`ve sorted things out by then.

Few signings and some players back from injury and we wil be back in the mix.

We did not deserve to lose last night.

Can't continue to ship goals at the rate we do and expect points.

It's the big gap in Carrick's coaching right now and should really be putting a lot of prem sides off.

I do think he'll get it right eventually, but talk of going to west ham (for example) is extremely premature.

The injuries of course don't help, but no getting away from the fact it's been a theme of his tenure.
Exactly this, but will help if we can keep a settled defence. Last night was another different partnership at centre backs. Both full backs looking to get forward too which leaves us exposed at the back. I expect to see Clarke back on Saturday, with perhaps Dijksteel dropping out. Fingers crossed that Hackney might be back!

Still waiting for you to provide some examples of when Barlaser has done well this season, or can you not give any?
Would you like me to wipe your ar*e as well?

There are a lot of examples of Dan playing very well and proving creative moments and notching a couple of assists.

We would all like more but to think he hasn’t done well at times this season is daft.

I’ll take that as you can’t back up your claim then?
He’s done a few decent things all season.
On a whole he’s made countless mistakes, cost us numerous goals and has played very badly all season.

Are we to conclude that this particular player is the embodiment of all which is wrong with Michael Carrick`s side?
Just as an observer, it appears that your assertions are subjective, emotive, irrational, belligerent, aggressive and completely baseless.

In a word yes because his position is crucial to how we play and his lack of energy and drive from the middle and no real supply hampers our attack meaning everything goes down the flanks.

You can’t coast in mf and he coasts a lot he also gives the ball away in key areas ( again last night) by dawdling on it thinking he has more time resulting in danger and sadly a few goals as well.

We have a number of fans who single out a player after defeat. I'm guessing they're looking for that player to make an error on their way to the ground, possibly because he's replacing their pin up boy. We have two at the moment.

They can't acknowledge anything decent that they did because of the red mist clouding their vision.

Have a look at the midfield pairings where we've conceded the most goals in a game. We've conceded 4 once but 3 a few times.

With respect Jedi, I was replying to Georgecostanza and Im not getting into this finger pointing argument with you or anyone else.
Here is what Michael Carrick said before the Hull game in his interview last night:

"Its not easy when your players are coming in, chopping and changing, creating new partnerships [and] new connections. That`s not on the quality of the lads who are coming into the team at all, its just more of, its not easy to come in when there`s chopping and changing going on. Probably effected us a little bit: not down to individuals [but] more of a collective. That`s how it is at the moment. Its fine. Its no problem. We`ll make the best of it and the great thing about it is there`s games coming thick and fast, that we can always do better in".

what are you going on about?
My claims that Barlaser has been overall bad this season, and made numerous mistakes? Not sure how it can be baseless or irrational when there’s evidence in the two goals we conceded last night and one of the goals we conceded against Leeds

also are you aware that belligerent and aggressive mean the same thing? Using them both makes no sense
