* The Unofficial “Official” Middlesbrough v Sunderland “TEES_WEAR DERBY” [02/25] Match-Day Thread *

Good half from both teams and a better game than these are normally. Nothing at all in it for me but I do feel we've created the better chances.
We have created the better chances norm.

Sunderland goal was a bit of a fluke and I am not sure Travers has had much to do, certainly not out of the ordinary.

I still haven't changed my mind, we should win this. I disagree completely with some posters who are saying we have fallen apart.

Definitely a penalty and a yellow card on Burgzorg for a really cynical foul.

Don't get me started on forss. I know he has been out for a long time but he has had about 3 good chances and only got the target once.

We are shambolic at the back. Every time a Boro player tries to play out in the final 3rd you'll expect a mistake.

Just look like we've constantly got a mistake in us.

Throw in the usual missed chances when on top and it's another cut and paste. We are going to be far poorer without LL or Doak.

I don’t think they look particularly creative but we have a soft underbelly which has cost us so many points this year.

Their centre back should have been booked for our goal he had a real handful of Burzorg’s shirt, didn’t stop him scoring but a booking in my eyes.

We are struggling to play it out from the back and have been caught a few times leading us to play it long far to often

We have had the better chances but after our goal they had a 10 minute spell and we couldn't touch them.

Enzo le Feè is pure class btw

Our season in microcosm. We’ve played some wonderful football, showed a complete lack of ruthlessness in the box and allowed the opponents back into it with some weak defending that led to a scabby deflected goal.

It should’ve been out of sight after 25mins.
We don’t do ‘out of sight’ remember

That free kick for us on 45 mins sums us up really.
A bit of dicky dancing before we move forward.
A bad pass and they are off and running with Isadore drifting offside

We really need to stop beating ourselves. That goal was completely Burgzorgs fault, under a bit of Sunderland pressure. We are so frail when the pressure is on and constantly give the opposition momentum.

It is and will constantly hold us back under Carrick, where there is no individual accountability. Our leaders should have been F***ing screaming at him after that but again, a few arms waved around and heads down.

We started the game so positively and on the front foot, then go and spoil it once again.

Decent game.

Whitaker struggling a little bit on his debut, but has also done some decent stuff and it is his debut.

Azaz being criticised, but has done some OK stuff.

Giles good stuff.

Burgzorg mostly been good, but not good enough before their goal.

We gave them the freedom of the Riverside for the equaliser- first two players with acres on the left flank a ball into Rigg with absolutely no one around him in the box and then goal. Sloppy defending (again)and lacking in intensity
