The 'Royal' train tour

Another example where this place is out of kilter with the UK.

In my wife's twice a week zoom meeting with her friends I doubt Brexit' has been mentioned once in six months, kids, TV, Covid and the Royal Family most of the tine.
Thats the point though, many of those voting brexit had little or no interest in what leaving the EU really ment they just fell for the soundbites and they are back to not really bothered

67006 – Royal Sovereign provided the pic on the Daily Mail site is actually from this trip and not a stock pic.

Rather makes me wonder, are these 2 locomotives - 67005 Queen's Messengers' the other one, above - exclusively for Royal duties? Bit of an extravagance if they are considering how much they're used. Part for the course I suppose, no expense spared. Our expense that is.
The haulage was 67005 at one end and 67006 at the other. And they are not used exclusively for the Royal Train.

I don't mind Harry and Meghan, can totally see why they would want to be out of the fishbowl, and I'm sure the relationships behind closed doors are probably more human than the 'journalists' who rely on Royal Scandal for their salary would have us all believe.

I have said this before, Inheritance tax should be at least 60%, most if it is based on house inflation. Screwing the gentry would be a good start. If they say it's a painting take two in three off them .

I’d go further. When you die - it all goes back to the state and your family has to deal with it.
You start with nothing you end with nothing

The Pearl clutchers and right wing tabloid readers seem to have an agenda against Harry and Megan which is deeply disturbing.

agreed, first 200k tax free then ramp it up and stop offshore trust funds.

Lots, nothing that would interest you though.
I get that thrown at me a lot too CtC, I don't believe in those traditional patriotic things and apparently I hate your country. It's mental. I don't admire the Queen, I don't admire british imperialism, or the might and victories of our armed forces. I don't admire Churchill, or Thatcher, or the Queen Mum. These traditional conservative figures of elitist power. I do admire brave soldiers, and I admire Stephen Hawking, Darwin and Newton, and Babbage and Lovelace, and Chaucer and Shakespeare and Thom Yorke, Johnny Marr and John Lennon. We are a nation of inventors and artists, philosophers and scientist. That is what we should be celebrating not bloody corrupt idiots in gold hats that steal our land and money.

Great post. I echo this fully.

Had it? Pubic polling doesn't seem to agree with you.
Strangely enough I haven't been monitoring any polls reflecting the popularity of the Royal Family with the general public.

I get all of my source data from The Crown on Netflix.
