The poor kid killed by a dog

Nobody classed a breed of dog as killers, like you claimed. People said the breed is capable of causing serious harm and the data proves it because they are commonly the culprit in serious attacks.
You really should take more notice of what has been said before jumping to conclusions ,one person has stated time and time again that all Staffordshire bull terriers are killers ,every single one of them , so instead of just piling in ,do a bit of research first !!

This might be an overly simplistic way to look at things, but how any dog that size and that strong can be legal is beyond me. I get the argument about bad owners etc but you have no chance if an animal like that attacked you. No need for anyone to have a dog that size

There must be 30 dog breeds that are bigger than an XL bully. And double that bigger than a staff.

Great Dane
Old English sheepdog
Irish wolfhound
St Bernard
Giant poodle
Etc etc ..

Now why anyone would want an XL bully specifically.. that's another question .

I'd suggest the vast majority buying a pure breed dog ( as opposed to rehoming or rescuing ) does so for at least partially " what others will think / social appearance/ fashion " .

They'd have to , as pure breed fashionable dogs are often bred for a look , that makes the dogs life compromised health wise.

In some peoples world , a labradoodle / cockapoo is a good look. Some others a 'frenchie ' or miniature something.
For others , an XL bully gives them social status .

I'm not defending the breed or owners in any way, shape or form btw , just saying that " size " is irrelevant.. they'd always be a most aggressive/ damage potential dog breed.
If you binned every breed bigger than the police dog of choice, it'd be that .

I’ve read the list ,it’s been posted on here time and time again ,however unlike many on here ,I only post my own real life experience of the breed ,
Any idea how idiotic that sounds?
Refusing to recognise that the breed has a higher potential to harm and kill is the same attitude that irresponsible owners adopt that contributes to the higher number of incidents.

Nowhere near as idiotic as your insane ramblings ,TROLL

The ones you have listed are all pretty docile. I think the stats for those dogs would be next to nothing, but I get your point. The only way would be to muzzle up dogs either all of them or a certain sized dog.

I'd happily muzzle my Wheaten Terrier if it meant we had a law forcing other owners to muzzle their dogs. I suppose the problem would be there's probably a big overlap between people who want an XL Bully dog specifically to intimidate others and people who'd flout such a law.

No they haven't. They have said that Staffordshire Bull Terriers have the potential to be killers, every single one of them, and that is factually correct. You blindly refusing to accept that your dog has the capacity to do harm makes you an irresponsible dog owner.

Why anyone would want a dog you couldnt pick up is beyond me, just ban all large dogs. No one needs them

You really haven't read this thread have you ,or your just another Troll , and please tell me where I have ever refused to accept my dog has the capacity to do harm ?
I,ll be waiting a long time for your response on this one I expect , yet another crank joining the list .

I don't care for dogs really, but can you please use punctuation properly? There is no need to put a space before the punctuation mark. It goes after.

Coincidentally, the other person on this thread (outoftown) defending these dogs also used this punctuation foible.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but….

My girlfriend has a 2 year old American bully XL… adopted him from a rescue centre when he was 6 months old. He is an absolutely lovely dog.

Great with kids, loves attention from any “human” basically. When we walk him he has a prong collar and an e-collar (never had to use it, it’s just for reassurance).

The biggest issue is with dog owners who walk their dogs off lead then come over for a chat with their dogs which are barking and yapping in our dog’s face. We have our dog on a lead, please do the same.

We have always had staffies, and I would say the same about them (though we have a pug with a fecking pink lead now 🙄). But these American Bullies scare the sh*t out of me. I’ve seen a couple of the lead before, and it just needs a dumb dog like my pug to get in its face to make them flip.

Couldn't agree more .

On lead at all times, would solve it

However... if the XL bully goes wrong , in the house, ( god forbid)
It should be manslaughter/ gbh for the owner..
More than the likely damage of a westie or other breed..
I truly think dog owners should be legally responsible for the dogs potential actions ..
It's a choice to own a hacksaw .. or chainsaw
