And you would have been wrong to suggest that ,on the contrary anyone found guilty of using a dog to attack /kill another person should have the book thrown at them ,sentencing should be in par with using a firearm to the same effect as a minimum

Completely agree. Murder for intentionally killing someone with your dog. Manslaughter for your dog killing someone without forethought.

I have no need to when posted by the resident Staffordshire HATER.
How can anyone believe any words that come out of someone who classes ALL Staffordshire Bulll Terriers as Killers .
Such biased hate towards a breed he clearly knows nothing about is not healthy .
It's obvious you love your dog, I get that, I'm a dog lover too, but I think it might be clouding your judgement on the subject, with respect?

I get what a troll is, but it seemed like a genuine point.
As I said earlier ,the Troll has an unhealthy attitude towards Staffordshire bull terriers , to class ANY breed of dog as all being killers is just plain stupid /ignorant / dangerous , so I will defend the breed as best I can from idiots .
Not once have I said the Staffordshire is a perfect breed ,no dog is ,but in my personal experience with my dog ,the pups he has produced ,my friends and family’s dogs and every other Staffordshire I have encountered ,not one has shown any sign of being anything but a loving family pet .
And I wouldn’t expect anything less from the breed ,or any other breed that has been raised and trained correctly .

I don't doubt what you are saying but honestly feel you have been very lucky if you or your friends and family have never had any issues with your dogs.

I had my son's dog (Cocker-Poo) out over the Dock Park and a lady was walking two Staffies, one on a lead and one off whilst she was chatting on the phone. The one off the lead attacked my son's dog and in her panic, the lady let go of the other one and that joined in the attack. I literally had the dog's ball throwing stick rammed in one's mouth whilst pushing the other one's head away with my foot. My son's dog was yelping with them trying to take lumps out of him whilst I was screaming at the two dogs and towards the woman to help. She had gone into meltdown and was walking around in a circle and didn't come over. All the time she remained on her phone. I managed to drag my son's dog away from them and had it in my arms to prevent them from getting him. This seemed to stop their attack and she put them on their leads. She didn't apologise or ask if the dog was alright.

When I was walking home I realised when a man glared at me that I had been bitten on the hand and I was dripping with blood.

Personally, I don't blame the dogs for what they did but the owner for the lack of interest she showed in them, and as a dog handler recently said, all dogs are unpredictable and can turn in a second. I do feel that the breed is unpredictable.

That's not what happened and it's you being ultra biased / defensive once again. That breed of dog has the potential to cause serious harm to people. The same way a loaded gun does. It would be better if there were restrictions on people owning things capable of causing serious harm, like loaded guns or dangerous dogs. The facts speak for themselves. The majority of dog attacks, that cause serious harm, are by a small number of specific breeds.

I genuinely feel it’s you who has been unlucky ,rather than me being lucky ,and that’s not to undermine what happened to you and your dog one little bit ,it should never have happened ,and wouldn’t have with a responsible owner .
Unfortunately you encountered the exact opposite of a responsible owner ,but thankfully you both escaped lightly ,but it should never have happened in the first instance

I'd be fuming with her. She should have footed any vet bill. To just stay on the phone....what an ar/s,e.shole 😡
Glad you got yours safe
I believe ALL dogs should be on leads and there should be NO public spaces where that is allowed to be relaxed. But clearly some breeds should be muzzled when out in public too

I’ve read the list ,it’s been posted on here time and time again ,however unlike many on here ,I only post my own real life experience of the breed , you have posted yours and yet you still say you don’t blame the dog you blame the owner which is good of you .
But it should never have happened in the first instance !

If any dog shows signs of unwarranted aggression that cannot be controlled ,you have 2 choices muzzle or put to sleep ,the only dog that I have had to do this to ,and through no fault of his own ,was my English bull terrier ,he got hit by a bus and unknown at the time had suffered brain damage , it became clear shortly after his other injuries had healed ,that the only person who he would accept being close to him was me ,he would try and attack everyone else . It broke my heart putting him to sleep ,but it was the correct thing to do .

What do you mean that’s not what happened ????
Nobody classed a breed of dog as killers, like you claimed. People said the breed is capable of causing serious harm and the data proves it because they are commonly the culprit in serious attacks.
