The Play off Final was 5 years ago.

It was a great weekend to be a Boro fan and a real celebration of what is good about supporting Boro.

For me it was the culmination of a season watching an effective team grow stronger, then falter, but if we went ahead that season you knew we wouldn't lose. Its a shame Karanka kept the shackles on the attacking part of the team making so many games tense.

Thought it was the last time the whole team and the town came together and was focused on one aim and was enjoying it, as the promotion season was a pressure cooker from start to finish.

Although the match was dreadful, and I think the manner in which we conceded the goals knocked the stuffing out of us all, the big weekend going into a final knowing that the team had given us a chance for 40,000 Boro fans to turn out was enough for me once the disappointment ebbed away.

Remember the electronic roadside signs detailing how many miles to Wembley on the A66 in Boro over that weekend . Like Piccadilly says it was very much togetherness

We had a canny afternoon drinking in Camden on the Sunday, went for a meal, made an unscheduled trip to Trafalgar Square then finished up drinking about 2.00am back in Camden Town. I was supremely confident when I collapsed into bed, even more so when Leo hung the banner on the back of the net during the warmup. It all evaporated very quickly after that....
