The Play off Final was 5 years ago.

There is no worse place to lose a football match, absolutely felt like my guts had been ripped out, my 2 lads were heartbroken, no positives to be taken from a truly awful day,I would echo what was said earlier, the Norwich fans at Kings cross looked like they were on their way to a wake.
So true & when you think in all those games we can't have had half a dozen shots at goal

I was in the second tier - Richie Smallwood was sat about three seats away - enjoyed the stadium [It felt like business class at Heathrow - just like the prices].
Still got the SKY Scarf.
Cant believe how quiet the Canaries fans were on the way back to the tube.[In their tweed jackets]
Its like they nicked the win ........
Swines!

The preparation on the day was obviously terrible. Whoever is responsible for determining the time it would likely take from hotel to Wembley Stadium were the biggest factor, we were beaten before we set off imho, everything thereafter caused a knock on effect. I doubt Karanka himself determined the distance and time It would take for the journey. I suspect that would be down to others. Probably one of his team of Spaniards or maybe a club official somewhere along the line. I suspect he will have used the data given, to decide with his inner circle what time to set off. Clearly whoever was involved with estimating the time for that journey messed up big style. That first error was catastrophic to our chances.

The players will have been agitated as time ticked on, the lack of preparation before kick off, rushing to get changed and warmed up not having time to take in the atmosphere will have led to the nerves and lack of focus, which in turn led to the disastrous opening 15 mins. I do not think the occasion itself got to them. Maybe if Vossen scores a different Boro emerge, but in reality heads went down after the second. Norwich coasted to the win thereafter In truth.

My overriding memory of the game has nothing to do with the match itself sadly. There were two blokes behind me, not sat together, on different rows, who were arguing with each other as one had begun unfairly slagging the players, next they’re offering each other out, quite threatening at times, horrid verbals, whilst young kids around looked frozen in fear. Too much pre match drink no doubt. They were truly obnoxious both as bad as one another. Leaning over others, in each others faces oblivious to the fear in a few grown ups too. I am sure it is the same at all clubs on occasions like that mind, not just Boro. It made the rest of the game uncomfortable viewing, even taking into account how the game was anyway!!

From the moment Ayala allowed Cameron Jerome to take the ball off him to walk up the net and slide it in the day went rapidly downhill from a high. The only player that came out of that match for us with credit was Albert.

I couldn’t get home quick enough , the train from Kings Cross was deadly quiet .
I absolutely hate Wembley as I’ve been 5 times and devastated each time and we’ve scored only one f***ing goal .

Btw how miserable were Norwich fans after they won the game. I couldn’t believe how downbeat they were.

just look at us in contrast a year later 🥳
As soon as the stadium announcer said 4 mins injury time I got up with my daughter and grandson saying I wasnt staying to watch them celebrate.
We walked out onto Wembley Way and I couldn't believe I was walking with Notwich fans out of the ground.
I cant remember them celebrating even as an almighty roar went up obviously as the final whistle went.
