* The Original - Unofficial "Official" Boro v Sheffield United. Match-Day Thread *

Just been reading their forum, some posts:

"Fair play to them they've taken the game to us and we've had a reality check."

"Saddens me to say it but Boro are a better side than us, only hope we have is that the points gap we have built gets us over the line."

"Played us off the park credit to them "

"They look a better more complete side than us, luckily we don’t have to play them again this season. We should have enough against most other opposition to see this through."

"Wish we had Alex Mowatt on subs bench"

"Impressive Boro who I cannot see them losing any games if they keep up that type of form. Hopefully we can keep picking results up and just keep them at arm’s length"

"We’ve played well but they’ve played better. It was their day. We will bounce back."

That was as impressive as it was enjoyable.

I posted a couple of days ago if we won tonight then we would go up second.
After tonight I am totally convinced.

7 of the next 11 at home, then Luton and Rotherham away before the last match Cov at home.
We will take some stopping.

A long time since I felt so proud of my team. From top to bottom we look like a quality club with a quality team. Carrick does it with quality and style but with total realism. Not flash, not pushy, given his career he could be, but a proper gentleman. Not sure what is to come but my personal optimism and hope for our future has never been so strong. Loud and proud. Thanks to all concerned

A word about Steffan, at 1-2 he kept us in the game and was instrumental in the 3 points. Supern erformance from him, as well as the other players on the pitch.

Thats why Carrick batted stupid reporter comments away. Even under pressure he stuck to the game plan of playing out from the back.
