From Troon on Scotland’s west coast. Looks like the weather could be dodgy for the weekend. Might suit Bob MacIntrye each way after his win last week?

Get tempted by the logic every year that the person that won the week before will play well again but it doesn't always pan out. The local that grew up in the area like Fleetwood last year ends up in a similar outcome.

It's a tough one to call though because they just aren't used to playing links golf in the cold so anything can happen. Hopefully it's more exciting than last year. Not sure many would have predicted Harmen last year and definitely not too win so convincingly.

Aaberg must be in with a shout?
Yes, but he blew it last week. McIlroy keeps blowing it and doesn’t like bad weather. Maybe Lowry and Fleetwood? It’s wide open (!) as I don’t fancy Scheffler or DeChambeau. Hopefully more exciting than last year.

It's a myth that the U.S golfers don't like the weather, more Americans win the Open than Europeans, Just to name a few Nicklaus Watson Woods more recently Morikawa Spieth Harmon. I'm backing Morikawa been playing well recently

Not likely to be cold, and not too windy.

Look for someone who played well last week but didn't get the breaks needed to win.

Has anybody ever won The Scottish Open / Open double? Rarely if never so the odds are well stacked against him. My long odds tip is Tom Kim. Good each way punt.

Good shout that for bob each way as he’s brimming with confidence and if the weather is dodgy also Shane Lowry 👍

I laughed when I found out that the only reason Tom Kim is called Tom is cos he looks like Thomas the Tank Engine. He actually does. Anyway, I've backed him. And Min-Woo Lee, Dechambeau and Spieth

Rory practice round eight years ago. Trying to get out of the “Coffin bunker” at the “Postage Stamp” hole!

Ludvig Åberg has a great chance as is playing well. He’s been knocking in the door and I fancy it might all come together for him this week.

Let the wind blow and make it a real test.
My picks
Morikawa 14/1
Finau 33/1
Henley 80/1

And a couple of huge prices
Soderberg 200/1
Canter 300/1
