The Gentlemen

1 Episode in and already think it's very good.

It has very high standards to meet, to even get close to the film as it's a fantastic film.

Guy Ritchie is an amazing director. One of the best out there.

We are enjoying it. On Ep 5 now. When it first started I thought it was just too full of cliches but it did grab us quite quickly and as someone else said it's fairly typical Guy Ritchie stuff. That isn't a bad thing to me.

To put the film and series in perspective, Guy Ritchie wrote the screenplay and directed the film, but has only written and directed two of the eight episodes of the TV series of which he is executive producer.

Does Ritchie do anything other than southern England gangster stuff? It was very good in the late 90’s and early 00’s but just a bit rubbish now.

To be fair, he’s done a few films not featuring Southern gangster stuff and fairly successfully too. It is what he’s known for though and probably what he can get the financing for easiest. His next film looks entertaining.

strangely, I've never seen anything he's ever done - but I do go to his airfield quite a bit for a coffee, amazing place
