The front 4 problem

So...

We can play any combination of Forss/Jones/Silvera/Lath/McGree/Rodgers...

It's created a bit of an issue, none of them (apart from Lath) stand out as bein better than their counterpart.
You can argue the range is anywhere between 12th-4th in the league in quality...

How do you pick from them? What is your criteria?

We then have the cherry on top... Crooks. A wonderful servant who really doesn't fit the system but he's just signed a new contract and he scored some big goals last year.

Not ideal.

I don’t know but I heard they have installed a new bingo set in readiness for the Christmas party, so maybe Gibbo has insisted they get some use out of it earlier rather than it just sitting there?

Roger can't be crowned Rodger until he's given the opposition a good rodgering.

Lets not jump the gun before Morgan comes good.

I think it picks itself unless more quality is recruited, which I sadly doubt.
Latte Lath as CF
McGree LW
Rogers No10
Forss RW.
Rogers no CF, he needs to come in behind the D…

Ok so...
McGree LW don't disagree but Carrick does
Forss at RW do disagree, he's been poor and despite it working last season he's not a RW, I'd argue Silvera who's right footed should play there or Jones who looks to have turned a corner.
Rogers at 10 agree but MC bringing Crooks on suggests he doesn't really know when surely McGree would be the better sub if he's not starting.

There will be some that agree with you, some that agree with me and others who see it completely differently. Thus confirming my point, there isn't a solid 'pick this team option'.

Carrick at the Thursday Media Conference:

Huddersfield?

The start of the season brings fresh challenges. Results havent been exactly what we wanted but we`re looking forward to whats coming up ….and getting back to the level we know we are capable of. We`re looking to bounce back. I have a lot of respect for what he [Neil Warnock] has done, the career hes had and the teams he`s produced. He knows how to get results, so we have to be very respectful, but find a way of counter-acting and find a way for ourselves. [Compared to the recent Cup game]...things will be different. We are at home, the personnel throughout the team will possibly be different. The style of play may be similar for both teams, but two games are never the same. I`ve had [poor] starts [professionally] before where things have eventually turned out successful. Its up to us to generate that excitement within the stadium.

Now compared to when you first came in?

Its a totally different ball game! We`ve had a fair turnover of players in recent weeks, but we know each other fairly well as a group…..I`m confident we will play better and results will turn round for sure. Two games into the season….it is what it is. Its not time to panic by any stretch. Its a long, long season. We are putting things in place that we hope will help us in the long run. Its always keeping an eye on the bigger picture. I think we have enough [quality] in the players, to be there, create chances….we`re not that far off. We need to fine tune and find that edge to be more clinical. That`s football. We have flexibility across the front line and each player offers something different….[so] they can fight for their place in the team. Every week is not the be-all and end-all of that: there`s going to be times when we change things game-to-game and thats a credit to the players different attributes and strengths. The boys know that and sometimes they have to sacrifice themselves for the sake of the group.

Lath?

Theres a lot of pressure on his shoulders...he needs to find his feet, get used to being around the place and the other players and learning what we expect…..fitting in that way. I`m excited about the way he plays: unpredictable, sharp around the box, gives us something different. He`s got a warm side to him and gives off a real good energy. The boys have felt that in training already. As a striker, as a number nine [so they tell me] he wants to get off to a quick start...but the impact he can have in and on the group is there already.

I like to have Forss in the team where possible. He's our best finisher and we've already missed too many chances this season.

Problem is he's not as natural a wide player as others. In an ideal world we'd have a good attacking right back behind him to provide the width and allow Forss to get into the box.

It's one of those weird ones where last season everything was working, put crooks upfront he'd score random goals.

Forss on the right was deadly for like 2 months.

He'll he even moved Hackney to left wing when Ramsey went off injured and he scored with his next touch.

The problem is, none of it is working anymore because Forss isn't a right winger, Crooks isn't a striker or attacking midfielder.

Carrick should be picking players in their best position now more than ever, you need to get some points on the board. If that means putting Forss on the bench or up front then that has to be done.

P.s. I still haven't forgiven Karanka for playing Stuani on the right, it was one of the massive reasons we went down that year.
