The Friday beer and music thread

Afternoon folks, been quite a hot week and it's going to get much hotter next week and so make sure you've plenty of bottles chilling in the fridge as there may well be an increased appetite for them when we're sweltering in 32-36 degree heat!!

At the weekly pub quiz I go to each Wednesday I noticed my local had some Double Maxim in stock so having not had any for some time I decided to indulge and I'm glad I did. A mere £2.10 per pint too, an absolute steal.

Given that Maxim has it's roots in Wearside I thought I would use that as a theme and so wil start the music with the fantastic Slave to Love by Roxy Music. Bryan Ferry was born in Washington so it's close enough to count! Enjoy your weekend folks, and no doubt I'll post some more dreadful tunes later 🍺🍻

Maxim for £2.10- that is a bargain for a delicious pint. What club do you use - I may find myself in Blyth one day again:)(y)

I probably shouldn't say this... so shhhhh... It's the local Wetherspoons. Chances are it'll be gone in a week or two of course. However, the High Street Club do have Dortmunder Vier on tap for a very well price £2.15 per pint which again is a steal.

While I'm in the 60s mood here's another classic. Born in 1977 but my amazing Dad used to listen to his 60s music all the time when I was growing up and subsequently I loved loads of it myself.

Evening chaps. Hope that you're all having a good one. No need to tell you what I'll be drinking later. It's the same every week.

I'm really not looking forward to this heatwave. My people really struggle in hot weather and the dog doesn't like it either. This is supposed to be the frozen North. It shouldn't be this hot. The weather is making a bit of a t*t of itself. If it was working for me, I'd have fired it by now.

No music for me yet. I'll annoy you all with that later. Enjoy your weekend fellas.
