The fans didn’t sack him, Gibson did

😂It was the best decision we have taken in the last 15 years - getting rid of Mr Bum Bag full of his selfies 👍
Yet here we are, nearly a year later having spent £10m and in a much worse position than when he left. Mr Bum Bag saved us and rebuilt on a shoestring.

Wish I had a dollar for every time that line was trotted out. Yes yes he saved us and we were bobbing along in lower mid table - we had to try and progress and he wasn't going to do that. Even you know that.

One thing that always nagged at me was the criticism about his ability to pick a forward this was said by sheff u fans ( and why he stuck with billy sharp for so long ) and I largely dismissed it but Connolly last year really shocked me how poor he was but Wilder was adamant he was the right player.

An infliction that has affected many a Boro manager even when we had good strikers

Karanka - Stuani
Pulis - Bamford

I’ve seen a few barbed comments about fickle fans and blaming fans for his departure

but make no mistake the fans did not sack Chris wilder Steve Gibson did.
You do realise - that whatever they may say to the contrary the club will absolutely be aware of comments made by yourself and other posters. Whether Chris Wilder reads this site or not he is likely made aware of posts, thoughts, rumours and theories. Fans DO have an impact on the thinking of Steve Gibson for better and for worse - they are bound to do.

Whatever it was he got rid. Singularly the worst decision ever made by a Boro manager.
Really - what if Pulis didn't sign Saville? What if - Pulis didn't sell Bamford???
(Looking at the present situation with Hoppe and Forss and then thinking back to many comments made by Neil Warnock about the players signed but not by him, how do we know which are signed by the club and which signed by the manager)>

Me thinks you are over egging the importance of this board. I doubt any decision is made on the basis of this.

And here is a classic example. The amount of posts made about the high walk up prices have been plentiful and passionate. Have we seen any movement to reduce them? Not a chance!

Be reasonable. Gibbo has just had a mansion built.

I hope it does, but Gibson will only read what he wants and will only be told what he wants to hear.
If you are reading this Gibson then look to yourself - you are the single core thread of consistency in this last 16 years of decline.

I mean fans comments in general online, not just this place - that is very fair comment about pricing though.

My cousin albeit he’s not in the first team does read this and other forums as do others, I imagine gibbo, bausor and Scott do read the forums, it’s the easiest way to gauge where the fans are at.
