The fans didn’t sack him, Gibson did

Gibbo - either him personally or someone who reported to him- did indeed pay attention years ago. I recall a few posters had a meeting and there was a poster who did get him wound up - Holgateoldskool

Mind this was a few years ago it has to be said.

Hahaha! 100% sure Chris Wilder lost his job because he was dump.

Have you applied for the job newy? They've turned me down again. B@stards.
Someone asked my about the sabermetrics thing I’d put together.. then never got back to me! Then I interviewed for a scouting job and they didn’t even take my paperwork!

They took my paperwork and signed Riley McGree on the strength of it 📖✍️

We didn't sack him but (we) the fans are fickle that's why I hope Leo doesn't get the job, some fans turn quite easily and become nasty with it and it must get out to the players and management, Id rather he (Leo) kept his respect for us.

We are all hurting Jedi, even if you wanted CW gone it feels like a missed opportunity for our future, everyone is dissing him now but our recruitment left him up **** creek without a paddle,
I agree I’m gutted it didn’t work out after all all that early promise. But I think we all knew something wasn’t right and hasn’t been for sometime.

Hopefully now we can all move on and start to get away from our dreadful form.

I completely agree with this. I am absolutely certain there is a very good manager in Wilder which is why this is so disappointing. The changes he made and the improvements were there for all to see but something went wrong after that pivotal incident with the burnley saga. There is little doubt that some of the transfers (or lack of in certain cases) weren't good enough but Wilder should have been able to do far better with this squad of players and what is really frustrating is I'm certain it is well within his capabilities.

Last eight games of last season we were worth more than 1 point per game.. the first 11 games of this season too!

The transfer window was always going to decide our fate, whoever had their business done early doors would gain the advantage.

It does feel like a missed opportunity, one on in which we sacrificed to bring in a manager and he had plans elsewhere before we’d even gotten started.

The hype, the song.. but we never had the points needed. Wilder rode on Warnock’s wave, helped on and pushed on immensely by Warnock’s men. Sol Bamba very much felt like the difference in those cup games.

Wilder didn’t bring the magic, he didn’t bring the love and more importantly I don’t think he fundamentally changed us for the better.
