The fans didn’t sack him, Gibson did

We were chatting to Steve Gibson in an airport lounge in Miami in June and he told us he most certainly kept his eye on what supporters were saying on message boards but the one he really took note of was a fan called Jedi_Boro.

He basically said that when a fan like Jedi stops blowing smoke up the backsides of the incumbent then he would know that said manager was in deep trouble.

And so it came to pass, When CW was linked with the Bournemouth job last week and it became too much for Jedi that he populated dozens of threads with his ire, Gibson knew Wilder's time was up.

So yes fans can get managers sacked!

Grow up

I’ve seen a few barbed comments about fickle fans and blaming fans for his departure

but make no mistake the fans did not sack Chris wilder Steve Gibson did.
Come off it you have to take some responsibility for this. Of course people in high places read this board...

He went from The Messiah to The Doughnut in weeks.....
Your warped football opinions can't be taken seriously on here any more
Thanks👍

Tell him how you really feel

* No, It was beauty killed the beast 😵‍💫

* Line stolen from King Kong 1933
Great filum mind
It was me who killed the colossal beast from War of the Colossal Beast back in 1958. The film was a load of bollox and it didn't tell the real story. That was a tough fight. He was a big lad, and there was time travel involved too and that can be pretty tiring. I'm not having beauty taking credit for my triumphs. My people have saved you lot from monsters loads of times, but you never know about it.

I’d go further still and say IT WAS CHRIS WILDERS FAULT!! there was no top level conspiracy designed to undermine him. We were 6 points outside of the playoffs last season. The last 8 games of last season averaged 1 point per game.. 1.75ppg would have seen us in the playoffs. We were more than capable of doing it. We papered over a lot of cracks in Wilder’s hand last season because of the big results in the cup. It was fun, but it’s the players that win those games. Wilder fails to recognise when/how to kill a game off. Servers times his team selection was questionable and it took him took long to recognise his error(s) and make the change.

Yes, he had a good song, yes he did well with Sheffield United.. but is he gonna dine out on that the rest of his career? Any self respecting prem side would be silly to take the gamble and Injonestly don’t think he will faire much better in the championship with another team.

Cheeky spell in the Eredivisie?

Next Everton manager...

Every manager is on borrowed time & Wilder had been on such a bad run with a season of mostly poor performances.. & terrible results, he was writing his own epitaph on the pitch: not anywhere near good enough, got to go..

I can see why Gibbo did it prior to another home game: up tick in volume & backing for the team.. rather than appointing someone on the back of a hostile crowd..

Another big appointment upcoming, hope the next one can perform..
