I'll ask him. As you've probably gathered, he has studied military history and read very widely on the subject, so it would be a surprise if he wasn't at least aware of it.

Ukraine has broken through the Russian lines at Zabalka (Toretsk). He describes this as "monumental".

Tank Girl is grumpy because she is not encountering enough Russians as she expands her front. So going slowly, setting up logistics as she progresses.

Armenia formally applied for EU membership today. Our man is very happy.

It's been said before though it's worth stating again - european defence fund initiative & long term planning, to support not only Ukraine, once the conflict is resolved to a situation Ukraine can accept.. European governments & esp some leaders became to too cosy with the bear & this is where it took us..

Shadow tanker EVENTIN IMO# 9308065 looks to have broken down in South Baltic sea. Drifting in high traffic area, escorted by DE Coast Guard x 2. AIS off 4h ago (power issues?), last: "Not under command" By now in Germany. Area is busy with ships, infrastructure and is used for sub exercises.

Looks like German tugs are there. Might be some nice salvage euro's in it.
 
Eventin now safe ... but another tanker, the Jazz broke down. Now that is under tow. With the Eagle S, that is about 300,000 tons of oil that Putin has kindly donated.

There was a massive Ukrainian drone onslaught last night. Results being analysed.

In Kursk, Russian troops are now being told by their commanders that they are the last hope for the Motherland. That there is nothing behind them if Ukraine breaks their lines. This is, anecdotally from Tank Girl, making them fight very hard.

General was saying last night that the base itself has been attacked several times this week and is basically defunct. Which means Russian heavy bombers have to operate from somewhere much further away.

1 - Further to fly means more warning to UKR air defence, plus greater chance of renowned ruzzian maintenance **** ups occurring.

2 Material Loss, Ruzzian loses valuable resources and is now clearly at a pinch point for basic needs for oil firefighting - can hear Budanov licking his lips from here

3 -the strategy of winning this damn thing not by flinging bodies at trenches but destroying the enemies economy and resources is the best chance UKR has.
