The end?

Huawei

How has it all panned out in Nova Kakhova not heard any news any where about it?

That falls under the Kherson attack as written about above. They are meeting very determined resistance but some slow headway. The appalling supermarket shellin was a response by the Russians to the Nova K advance.

"Their new multi billion Akademia building, it is so new that it is not entirely finished.
It is an entire city block consisting of several building, built to replace 7 different offices that was spread out."

Just had word that our favourite tank girl has basically taken Nova Khakova town .... heavy losses on both sides. The Russians now evacuating town and villages in South Kherson. She apparently threw the kitchen sink at them and then encircled the town. One suspects there will be few Russian army survivors.
This obviously unofficial ... and I doubt you'll read about it elsewhere just yet.

Desperately sad at the losses but a fantastic achievement and a relief she has come through it.

So that means an established bridgehead and shortcut for taking the southern Kherson to crimea?

Yes, but the losses have been so heavy (40% manpower and gear I'm told) that it will take UAF at least a week to re-group and assemble an offensive force to proceed, according to my mate. Tank girl is having to have a week of rest too. If this turns out to be true, she has done something quite rare militarily. I know my pal is prone to hyperbole, but he reckons it would make her only the fifth commander in history to pull off such a complete pincer, encirclement. I asked him whether there was a chance that the Russians would be able to re-inforce in that time. He said "None".

I believe it is also the source of the canal to supply fresh water to Crimea.

Crimea's entire water supply is through that canal which runs due south from just east of the dam. The Russians couldn't very well bomb the dam to stop UAF crossing it because, if it failed, then that supply would have been cut off by them. UAF can't cut off supply until sufficient forces are in place south of the crossing to move on to the Crimea land bridge. There's no whiff of this on twitter yet. There is though material about the UAF counter offensive in Bahkmut .... apparently 1km re-taken.

A fairly positive update. As usual, UAF have done the surprising thing.

"As per usual Ukraine is not doing things the way anyone would do it.
And that has so far been a good thing, and it is looking like it will be that again.

After the expensive and important initial victory at Nova Kakhovka everyone expected either a massive redeployment of troops into Kherson to drive home the victory there.
Or go towards Melitopol or Mariupol.
In the end that will be done, but as it turns out that is probably not anything that requires Ukraine to hurry.

What now?
It was all in what was not said in "Putin's" speach.
It was Spine-putin that held it.

In it he mentioned the defence against terrorists in Donbas.
Not a single word about Kherson, Zhaporizhzhia and Crimea.
This is reverberating against what we are seeing: massive evacuations and troop withdrawals.
So, why hurry up to fight and lose men and equipment if they are running away.

Zalushnyi today informed everyone that he will not attend the NATO-meeting due to pressing duties at the frontline, he was also clear that he would not have time to participate via videolink.
Unless this is yet another maskirovka it speaks volumes about what is happening, and I am certain that it is not a maskirovka after what has happened.

The Bakhmut Knockout Blow
The Ukrainian plan seems to have taken to heart one of my favourite quotes, let me paraphrase it ever so slightly:
"We choose to win in Bakhmut and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard; because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one we intend to win, and the others, too."

It is now clear that the current big offensive is at Bakhmut. The goal is to take out 1/3rd of the Russian army in one massive blow.
It began 48 hours ago with Terra Brigade taking 1 square kilometre on the northern flank, and minor gains inside Bakhmut.
Yesterday there was a massive blow on the southern side as the Azov Brigade breached 3 kilometres and penetrated 2.6km towards Klichi'ivka and continued small gains inside Bakhmut.

To be able to do this Ukraine has engaged the full 3rd Army Corps.
The weight of this massive reinforcement cracked Wagner like an overboiled egg.
The Wagnerites tried to run away.
Problem is that the Kadyrovites had been sent in as barrier guards.

What followed can only be described as the most epic and glorious thing witnessed in this war.
The battle hardened Wagnerites punched right into the Kadyrovitic Tictoc-warriors and made puré au Kadyrov out of them.
As the Kadyrovites tried to run away the regular Russian army opened up artillery fire on both the Wagnerites and Kadyrovites, who in turn both started to belt back at the regulars.
The Azov's sat down rather stunned and had large servings of Borstj while watching the Russian forces auto-destruct themselves against each other.
According to reports it was a most pleasing sight for them since they say 250 meters away watching it all unfold.

Historically if something like this happens it takes days to sort everything out.
But, with an entire fresh army corps knocking them over at the same time, the Russians do not have those days.
Instead the Ukrainians washed their metaphorical plates, burped, and ambled over to their artillery and unleashed hell on Earth to press home the advantage.

Conclusion
I seriously doubt that Russia can recouperate from this, not under that type of offensive that Ukraine has unleashed upon them.

Here is the thing, Russia has turned taking Bakhmut into a sexual fetish.
They have talked nonstop of how it would be the turning point of the war, and how close they are to winning, and they have done so for months.
Having that victory snatched from them will be both a blow for the army, and a blow to the public.
I have a very hard time seeing that Russia can withstand this loss in the long run.

I am here thinking about that single sad lonesome T-34 tank from the parade.
After it had trundled down the parade ground it drove away to an awaiting lorry to be hauled away.
Unlike at the parade ground here there where a lot of Moscowites looking at that tank.
As it drow up on the lorry the tank-driver lost control, and it fell off the lorry-bed, rolled to it's side and unto the roof, to finally settling undignified almost upside down, clearly broken.

That tank is the perfect metaphor for where the once mighty Soviet Red Army has ended up at.
Small, old, forlorn and sad.
A pathetic remnant dreaming about the lost days.
A broken shell, about to be forgotten in the mist of time.

The Russian army in Ukraine is also broken and tipped on it's side.
Question is just how long time it will take before they find out that there is no longer a Soviet Union, nor a Russia.
The remaining remnants of Russia has turned into a headless chicken that is still running around without a brain, and it is such a big chicken that the running might go on for a while.
But, sooner or later the chicken will topple slowly unto its side, just like that T-34.

It is believed that Ukraine since 2100 yesterday has used 100 000 shells and missiles over the 80km frontline of Bakhmut."

Ouch!!

I was watching that clip, quite a few comments saying it was from last year.

It was a pretty poor parade 🤣
