* The [early] Unofficial "Official" Birmingham City v Boro Match - Day Thread *

I think that sums up thecstandard of officials in football

Whether hes offside, or not, but to let play continue the player celebrate then wave a flag is very poor

He looked miles off when he collected it. I thought he could have maybe left it for Connally (I think).

Brum are awful. Anything but a win tonight is a failure.

Unbelievable Jeff. It looked offside I think the officials eventually got it right but deary me, VAR would have given a quicker decision and its not even fitted.

It was clearly offside so no complaints there but I don't understand what took so long. Balogun could've been injured from that last ditch tackle when the ball should've been dead. It's not like we have VAR and a directive to wait and review on this league. That's was just plain old incompetence.

I don't think we can slate him if he gets it right😂. Just a bit delayed

Defo following the VAR and prem protocol. Then thinking 'fook we don't have VAR'. That said decent finish.

Wonder if he does premiership as well and went into var mode by letting play conclude before putting his flag up forgetting it’s a championship game.

I thought he was off before he put it in, but it's hard to tell on red button quality images.

But that is the run I want to see more of from Balogun, in behind, Connolly running towards the near post is the run I want to see from him too, and it paid off.

These are absolutely dreadful by the way, we should have finished them off by now. Hopefully get a legit second early second half and then I can't see a way back for them

Red button coverage frustrating, no replays.

I could not make out how the goal went in, but who cares. If Connolly hadn't been there we wouldn't have scored, so whether it's his or not he deserves credit. I think he has been as good as anyone this half and hope the goal is his.

Was it Crooks who missed the header?

I'd have taken a one nil lead at half time. Desperate for us to see this one through now.

There we go then. Even Neil’s reversed his decision.

Any chance those having a pop at me for having the audacity to suggest it was an own goal, when it was an own goal, can apologise now?

VAR on Saturday
Are you saying we are using VAR on Saturday, I thought it was only being used at PL grounds.

Edit: I din't know that.
