By saying relative peanuts do you mean they haven’t been sold for peanuts then or they have? It’s a bit ambiguous. If you're going to quote me quote me correctly.
I said relative peanuts.
i.e. relative to the fees other Championship clubs receive for players of comparable talent.
So yes I would say Tavernier, Spence and Akpom have been sold for relative peanuts.
The profit from any of the above player sales exceeds annual gate receipts. Although ticket prices and attendance are important to match-going fans they're much less important than they used to be re club financesBy saying relative peanuts do you mean they haven’t been sold for peanuts then or they have? Akpom - £14m
Tav - £12m
Spence - £12-20m
Rogers - £10-16m
We took spurs to the cleaners with Spence. Tavernier I think we could have got a little bit more maybe, Akpom was in his last year and would have been given away 10 months previously.
It is a bit doom and gloom though. Regardless of whether you are correct that the fans will disappear if the team start to struggle, do you not think everybody attached to the Club knows this and doesn't really need your warning? Not doom and gloom reality this is what happens when you write of a season in feb.
As I say I’ll be there regardless im just making an observation.
We are the best supported we’ve been for years, that won’t disappear over a few bad results. This place goes into full on meltdown mode and thankfully isn’t the majority of the fan base.It is a bit doom and gloom though. The majority of those in attendance yesterday may have not gone into meltdown but I can tell you they were pretty pi$$ed off and not at all supportive of what they are seeing going on, on and off the pitch. This place goes into full on meltdown mode and thankfully isn’t the majority of the fan base.
Grow up.I’m glad we aren’t currently fighting in the trenches.
Agree to disagree. The majority of those in attendance yesterday may have not gone into meltdown but I can tell you they were pretty pi$$ed off and not at all supportive of what they are seeing going on, on and off the pitch.
Grow up.
A couple of season ticket holders in my row of the North Stand left before half time yesterday. I've never seen them do that before.
Not surprised if he has to listen to you.Bloke in front of me left after 30 mins to go and get a pint.
To be fair, he’s been doing it every game for the last 10 years
He may well be off to WestHam soon.Carrick’s comments annoyed me slightly after the game. We know it’s not the end of the world, no one said that. But it definitely feels like the end of any ambition this season.
Fair play mate I just think it’s a little disrespectful to discuss our future manager when Carrick is still in place.Pathetic OP
Not sure it is. While we won't be back to Strachen days a lot of the OP says are good points.Pathetic OP
