Well first and foremost can I wish everyone a fantastic Christmas with your loved ones whether that be family or friends.

It's been an interesting year with the Boro, making the play offs after a terrible start to last season then throwing away a golden opportunity to get to the Premier League. That said, overall we've had a great experience with Michael Carrick and I do believe he will be a great manager with a fantastic future ahead of him. I just hope he's here for another couple of years yet to see us into the Premier League and hopefully keep us there. Let's start with a big 3 points tomorrow and bring more joy after reaching the semis of the cup!

I'm not drinking this evening and have just indulged myself with a lovely Ringtons tea but looking forward to seeing what you're all drinking and listening to over the festive period. I'm a big kid at heart and I love Christmas so having been blessed with 4 amazing children I'm never short of Christmas spirit.

However, just a couple of points if I may - firstly, there are many who are suffering and especially this time of year. Let's not forget to drop in on our elderly neighbours for a quick chat and a cuppa, or make that phone call that we keep meaning to get around to with our friends and relatives who may not be close by.

There are a number of people on the board who are really struggling so my private messages are always available if anyone just needs an ear, or to vent, or whatever it may be. It might not seem like it, but there is always someone there for us and sometimes in the most unusual of places. I'm sure many other posters echo this too, so please, don't ever be alone.

Finally, a quick nod to those we love who are no longer with us. Let's try to remember them not with sadnesss, but joy and great memories.

Anyway, here's a Christmas tune to get us started but that's not the theme - get posting whatever you're listening to ladies and gents. So here's to wishing you all a merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone.

I had a visit from El Guapo this morning and then went out to visit two of my aunties and took my three sisters a box of flowers each - A big shout-out for the Mayflowers Florist on the top of Cumberland Rd (Merry Christmas Lucy and family).

We had the feuerzangenbowle out on Wednesday and it was really good. If you look closely at the picture you can see the flame melting the sugar cone that is soaked in rum. I also had to turn the placemats over so we didn't scorch the top like I did last year.

Nat King Cole's version of Silent Night takes some beating.

That's funny, I was singing this with my Salvadorian mate about an hour ago.... albeit a more traditional version than Jose's.
