The best concert/gig you've been to

Many different gigs for many different reasons. Pink Floyd's "The Wall" tour at Earl's Court as I was such a fan and its theatricality was breathtaking. Genesis reunion with Peter Gabriel to save WOMAD at Milton Keynes, as I was such a huge fan, who thought I'd never see that line up live. Bo Ningen, The Scala, knocked sideways by the noise, the intricacy, the melodies and the beauty. The Raincoats, Islington Assembly Hall, reduced me to tears of happiness.

Jeff Lynnes ELO at Wembley in 2017, just a special night. Followed very closely by any of the several Springsteen gigs that I have been lucky enough to get to.

Are you sure the Saturday one was cacelled as I'm sure there was footage of REM and Radiohead or Stipe and Yorke on YouTube. Could be from somewhere else I suppose.
Yes it was. They cancelled some of the Sunday acts and moved the best Saturday acts to Sunday. Making it a stellar days entertainment.

So Yes, REM played and Yorke sang with them, then Radiohead played and Stipe sang with them. It was great. The day inevitably over run, and Pearl Jam were the last band, by the time half the stadium had left RHCP came on beyond the curfew and played about 8 songs of Blood Sugar Sex Magic using Pearl Jams equipment.

It was an amazing day.

Prince at the o2, August 1st 2007. The opening night of the 21 Nights in London residency. He opened with Purple Rain and it never dropped in quality once.

On a side note I once wandered into a tiny tent at Glastonbury at about 1 in the morning to find the Waterboys playing in front of about 500 people. It was sensational.
Was the tiny tent rammed to the rafters or was it only a tiny tent on the outside but big enough to hold 500 on the inside :)

My favourite is Springsteen and have seen him at SJP, Roundhay Park, Old Trafford, Stadium of Light and Hampden Park but my favourite gig was Dave Bowie’s Let’s Dance tour at Murrayfield. Springsteen is busy on stage but Bowie’s show was something else.

Gerry cinnamon at hampden last Sunday. Best I’ve been to by a mile. Atmosphere was electric and he actually sounds better live, unlike other bands I’ve seen.

Yeah and I have the album of the concert, Patti Smith and Beck are on it?
@asredastheycome Just googled and found a rolling stones review.

As a huge radiohead fan, I was absolutely gutted that I didn't know about the free 9:30 club gig on the Saturday, it was apparently epic (Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston hooked up that night after dancing on teh side of the stage with each other, apparently), it's a great venue the 9:30, iconic in the US. It still really annoys me that I didn't know about it.

The Skids -The Brook Southampton. Waited a long time... never saw them with Adamson unfortunately. Only about 100 people there (it's a converted pub, so quite small and intimate).
What a gig though.
Even made it onto this video 😃

I m not a fan of Big open air concerts or even indoor ones at that, I saw Queen at their knebworth one , Cure at Crystal Palace, Springsteen/Sting/Gabriel at the amenesty international at Wembly Stadium, Rea and Velvet Underground at Wembly Arena, I didn't connect and left disappointed, it was probably the Boomtown Rats at the Redcar Bowl which was my favourite live band for many years until I was down here and me and a mate stumbled into a live venue by chance and saw a mostly female Icelandic outfit called Bellatrix, they were brilliant, it's quite hard to find details about them, but they just lit up the small venue that night.

I was 16, it was brilliant hearing Rock Lobster live. Can you remember the support band? They were called Fashion and very good.
No I don’t remember them at all. I do remember total darkness at the lights going out, intro to Planet Clare playing and Fred Schneider screaming ‘Hi were the B52s’ before total chaos ensued!
