Very sad news. He was such a character in the game and I was very excited when he came in to help Robbo out and even more disappointed that he didn’t stay longer!

Also that summer of ‘96 will live long in my memory as one of the best I ever had.. thanks for that Tel. RIP

Great Legacy on Teesside - saved Boro from almost certain relegation. Blotted his copybook thereafter by going to Leeds but very fondly remembered. Random fact - the onlly player he was credited with bringing to the club in his tenure was Dean Windass. You're welcome
