Tense atmosphere

I felt for Paddy first half he seemed to be getting more groans than most, but he was doing the right thing keeping possession. Movement was poor first half, far better second half, I assume MC must have had a word re tempo

What harm did it do?

It's just a typical rara moan. If you don't like it get behind the team

Do you not think they get criticised for some of their play at half time?

It's clearly going to put doubt in to players minds when they're getting abused for not passing within 2 seconds.

What Carrick tells them is a completely different situation to the abuse from the crowd, who often cluelessly complain about things that are working in our favour.

Half of last season was abuse towards Steffen for drawing in the opposition instead of hoofing a long ball.

As much as it annoyed me that they weren’t passing to Engel in the first half, fans should never dictate how the team player in my opinion especially not after 15 minutes.

Play how the coaching team instruct you not a section of fans.

Did they lose us the game?

Too many sensitive souls I'm afraid.
What job do you do? Let me know then next time you're doing your job as best you can, but not making the progress I want to see, so I can come along and berate you for it...
Yep nobody likes people slagging them off in public when they are doing their best at their job, especially when those people don't now as much as you do about said job, or what you are trying to achieve with your actions at that particular time. If only they'd wait a bit longer they would be able to see, but no, it's not happening quick enough or good enough...

Some people in the North were doing my nut in tonight. Within 15-20 minutes you could hear the grumbles and shouts.

Mainly when the centre backs had the ball at the back and were keeping possession. It was clear as day that Cardiff were happy to sit back and frustrate. Spent a good chunk of the half sat in their own half. If the forward passes aren’t always on, we need to manipulate and try bring the opposition onto us. I might seem a bit slow, but the opposition can’t do anything with the ball if we’re in possession.

We’ve played in similar fashion for nearly 12 months and some people still don’t get it. Sure some would just prefer us to whack it up the pitch and hope for the best.

But I agree with Carrick. It’s not helpful. We need to be patient at times.
Some of our fans are morons and need educating
Have they not seen Carrickball?

So, how do you react? If the team are passing it backwards and sidewards for 40 minutes to tire the opposition out for a win over 90 minutes do you…

1) Moan a bit? Probably.
2) Sing and cheer like crazy? Will never happen.
3) Keep quiet. Micheal Carrick’s preferred option?
4) Have a pint in the concourse first half? Best option!

I have mentioned before that Carrick, out of all the managers I remember can get tetchy with the crowd when things are a bit tense but that was understandable today ... I have noticed him telling fans to shush a lot, which was often when we passed back to the keeper last season getting closed down, he just wants us all pulling in the same direction ... glad for him right now. On a great run despite some tense moments, which is easy to get given our awful start

Hopefully, the confidence is on the up, Especially when it comes to the likes of Lath and Engel ... they needed that tonight. It was the clean sheet I was craving for. for once .. got the rub of the green but you need that in the game, especially in a spell like we're in atm

There was a tense atmosphere for no reason. People didn't like the changes and thought it gave them the right to whinge and moan pretty much from the off. I can't understand what makes people behave like that.
Because people are lazy and don’t want to think through WHY Carrick has made changes or forced into making changes. They just assume he’s picked the wrong team then moan at the first sign of difficulty
That’s why the English public really are the thickest bunch of people (the majority. Not all) and it’s an epidemic of ‘lazy thought processes’ instead of intelligently thinking through why the 11 picked have been picked and to get behind your local team

Think I'll move from the North Stand to the West Stand next season just to avoid all the criticism. You'd think every single fan in the North Stand was moaning and groaning judging by the expert crowd behaviour analysis on here.

I'm sure the morons who groan when we are trying to play out from the back would rather we hoofed it 60 yards up the pitch in behind their full back.

Carricks's style of football won us a lot of games last season, and it's starting to win games again this season. He's played the game at the highest level and under one of the best managers that there's ever been. Maybe we should take notice of him, I'm sure he's forgotten more than half of the ***ed up fans in the crowd who've played no higher than the Teesbrough 3rd division.

It's not just been effective, it's been the best to watch in years.

A lot of fans just don't really understand the tactics unfortunately. Wonder if Carrick should do an educational video to go out with ST renewals 😀
