Tell the truth, or a lie, about a celebrity

Met DLT ( Dave lee Travis) in a Torquay club back in the days of Radio One Roadshow. I won the game for 4 guys, my prize? 9 singles, 45’s !

Could be true that. Not a lot of people know it but Tina Turner was a crane driver before she made it big in show business, it's well known that she likes hanging around construction sites to watch lifting operations.
She loved it. She was blown away at the view after I offered my hand to help her up the three rungs to enter the crane.
The first thing she said to me was " Wow, do you work here every day ?"
I told her that I did and she replied with " My god, I would love to do this "
I smiled and replied that I would love to swap jobs with her anytime.
She laughed and said " You're alright, I'll catch up with you later " as she exited to take in the amazing views.
She really seemed to feel at home at such height unlike many others that visited that clung desperately to the handrails.

Billy Connolly used to visit the bridge whenever he was in town.

He made the fatal mistake of getting in the lift that takes one up the pylon with Wazza . ( a Kiwi that made a skunk smell like a bottle of Chanel no 5 )
I think that most of us in the lift at the time were thinking " surely not " except for Wazza.

We were all laughing and gagging at the same time including Billy whilst he was throwing punches at those that were standing next to him.

A couple of years later as I was waiting for the lift, I heard a commotion behind me and as I turned to see what it was all about, I noticed Billy
heading towards me.
I smiled and offered my hand and said G'day Billy, how are you.?
He took my hand and looked me straight in the eye and said " Ahl tell ye after you tell me if Wazza still works here. :ROFLMAO:

To this day, Wazza still works on the bridge but I'm not sure if Billy ever came back. 🤣

Well that fooled you all didn’t it
I should have posted something about wanting to kill myself, it might have got more attention

I think I must have met you when I was on the bridge with Kylie and Dannii.

Posted this before but coincidentally as it's Halloween......my Manchester best mate Ted's brother in law was the Halloween (and many other films) actor Donald Pleasence. He used to get invited to Donald's home in Fulham for xmas/new year parties where the usual suspects were Bill Wyman, Herbert Lom and Robin Nedwell. Ted was a bit of a handyman so whenever Donald wanted some work doing to the house Ted got the call. On one such occasion they went out to the pub one night and when they got back Donald discovered he'd lost his house keys but said a mate of his round the corner had a ladder and they'd get it and Ted could climb in the bedroom window. So they went round to see Donald's mate who turned out to be ......Roald Dahl who came to the door with a snooker cue in his hand, he invited them in and there stood another bloke with a cue in his hand ....George Harrison

Stella McCartney is a frequent visitor to my place of work. Always has her 'people' ring ahead to book a table. She has family in the area.

Which club? Tooting Tramshed?
I don't remember but just down the main road from the mitre, if you know the area. Tmc recording studios were a few doors down from the mitre and a fair few artists used to go in there, mostly reggae.

Many, many years ago went to an open day fête at Broadmoor prison ( in the grounds not right inside the top security unit )The celebrity guest at the fête was Jimmy Saville.

Saw an ex soap stars card bounce due to lack of funds in a local off licence, they then asked for the items on credit which was refused due to not paying the bill last time. They then got all embarrassed and said to my pregnant partner 'What you looking at?'.
