Team vs Huddersfield

Can’t argue with that👍
Looks good, Silvera and Jones could start for either of McGree and Forss and I wouldn’t complain to much but I think they will both come back in.

Squad is looking better. Ideally still want another striker and a central midfielder.

Dieng

McNair
Fry
Lenihan
Engel

Howson
Hackney

Forss
Rogers
McGree

Latte Lath

Subs:
Glover
Van Den Berg
Coulson
Barlaser
Payero
Silvera
Jones
Crooks
Coburn

I'd like to see Silvera in for Rogers, with McGree going in the middle.

But I do think the team you've put up will be the one MC picks.

At half time on Saturday I would have agreed with you. By full time, I had changed my mind to the team Diego posted.
Although it is tempting to just say fuk it and try Jones at RB

I'd like us to play 4-3-3 but I doubt Carrick will

Dieng
McNair - Fry - Lenihan - Engel
Hackney - Howson/Barlaser - McGree
Rogers - Forss - Silvera

subs: Glover, RVDB, Coulson, Payero, Barlaser/Howson, Coburn, Crooks, Izzy, LL

Howson/Barlaser based on Howson's fitness. Feel that LL may take longer to get up to speed than Engel as he's been playing in a very different style. Suddenly feels as though we have options in all positions.

I always thought McGree struggled in that position for Wilder. We've seen a different player since he moved forward.

It's a shame we're thin in CM because Howson is probably also our best "fit" right back at the minute too.

In fact there's probably an argument that he's our best right back full stop. Just also our best midfielder.

It's not a bad shout that. You could leave Barlaser in and put Howson at RB but it's got a feeling of jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Which is the least bad option

OP's team is probably the best available, and the one I think we'll pick (subject to further incomings).

Silvera can feel slightly short changed but it's a long season and McGree from the left is (was?) critical to our approach in the attacking third. If we start seeing McGree shifted around, it's a further signal that our tactical approach is shifting too.

That said, I don't think Engel is as attack minded as Giles, so it may be that patterns of play on the left hand side are altered as a result.

Both are way too slow to play rb. Desperately need a new face in

I'm hoping Engel and Lath both start but the modern day thing seems to be not to throw new signings straight into the team.

Think under current circumstances though, when we've been weak at LB and ST, it makes sense to throw the new lads straight in.
