Team GB currently 4th in the Medals Table

I think only the rowing has been a bit of a let down, or lower than expectations etc.

I assume the BOA funding is based on individual sports medal success?

Superb, especially since nailed on medals like rowing have failed to materialise. We've picked up our game in a few areas like swimming and diving.

If we can re-invigorate our rowing programme, and maybe get another 5% out of the cyclists again we could absolutely fill our boots in Paris because we have a lot of very young athletes medalling or close to medalling in these games.

Brilliant achievement- lottery funding paying off in a lot of sectors. Athletics along with rowing could be the areas of disappointment

And some doubted last week we would catch Australia
The Aussie always start strong because they have a culture of swimming and it has always kicked off the Olympics in my lifetime. But they always get caught.

In the all-time summer olympic medal table we are 3rd and they are 10th. Good performance for a small nation but our 263 golds to their 147 is nearly double.

They actually beat us in the table in 92, 96, 00 and 04, fair dinckum to them. We beat them in 08, 12, 16, so a 4th on the spin would be great.

At present its looking good for over 65 medals and now ahead of Australia and Russia Olympic Committee in the medals table. Only USA, China and Japan ahead of us. Well done to all concerned. (y)
Where do you think these extra 18 medals are going to come from? Two are guaranteed in boxing, colour to be determined. Liam Heath maybe in K-1 canoe sprint. Tom Daley? Show jumping? Modern pentathlon? A few in track cycling?
