Team for Tuesday then?

3-4-3

———————-Glover——————-
———-Berg—Lenihan—Engel———-
Jones—Hackney—O’Brien—Bangura
———Forss—Latte Laff—McGree——

Get Leo back in the mix.. time for Leadbitter to speak up too..
I too would like to see Leo back but we are in trouble now & it would be wrong to throw him in at the deep end.

…………………..Dieng………………….

……..RVB………..Fry………Lenihan….

Jones…..Hackney….O’Brien…McGree…Bang/Eng/Coul (whoever is fit)

…….….Forss………….Greenwood…………

Is Smith definitely out? He is a big miss at the moment. Last season his position and role was crucial in getting Giles forward and allowing McGree to wander looking for space.

If all are fit

When in trouble do what footballers know best Back to Basics 442

…………….Dieng

Smith Fry Lenihan Bangura

Jones Howson OBrien McGree

............Forss Coburn

Time for Hackney to sit alongside Carrick and listen to what he wants from his central midfielder.

Incidentally did anyone see Hackney for England U21's last week he played the exact role we need him to play for us sitting in front of back four. A sort of midfield sweeper, never got caught out of position once. So he can do it, would improve Fry and Lenihan massively as well if he could do that job successfully

If everyone is fit then I can't see any other way of lining up. O'Brien seems to have a good engine so sit him alongside Howson and put the onus on them to first and foremost protect the defence and track runs those runs through midfield that are killing us game after game!

We need to go back to basics and restart our season doing the small things properly! After we stopped conceding so many stupid, lazy goals we will have steadied the ship will have something to build from!

There is no way coburn who had yet to be really trusted as a sub will start on Tuesday.

Sorry he play 2 mins plus injury time yesterday snd 33 mins in total

I agree. I’m just picking what I would do.

I know the team that will be put out won’t include Coburn and will still be this bizarre 4231 formation this simply isn’t working with this group of footballers.

I agree btw but it’s never going to happen

For me the team needs players to be playing in there natural position not CB at full back or midfielders at full back/upfront, this is a major problem with the team.

You can't have balance if players are playing in unfamiliar positions.
If all RB are injured promote a youngster this is why we have an academy etc. We have to play players in there natural positions.

Although Forss has done well on the right he is still a CF playing on the right, O'brien went to LB, Rav was at RB Crooks as a make shift CF the teams is all over and the results prove this, we have to go back to basics and as others have mentioned play seasoned pros in the championship in there preferred positions.

Dieng

McNair RVB Lenihan Bangura (assuming he's fit)

O'Brien Howson

Forss Hackney McGree

Lath

And sharper utilisation of the 5 subs if things aren't going to plan.

I don’t want 3 centrebacks with wing backs, I’m not comfortable with that and we can’t afford the few games it would take the team to adapt.

He needs to stop playing crooks up front or as a 10.

3 central midfielders to steady the ship.

Personally I’d play Hackney, Obrien and Crooks in those 3 positions.

3 up top

Jones on the right, Lath or Forss in the middle and McGree on the left.

Keep it tight for the first half.
Then gives us options for later in the game

Forss can not play on the right anymore, without Akpom to play off he’s absolute garbage their.

Who are out fullbacks to play a back four?

I don’t agree that Akpom’s made Forss decent on the right wing.
