Team for Millwall

I would imagine the team that starts tomorrow will start against Millwall, injuries aside. If we are serious about competing at the top end of the division Crooks should never be a starter. Coming on as a sub when chasing games yeah, but he's not good enough to be starting

Dieng.. talk of him going to the prem. BUT HE HASN"T
McNair.. Man Utd snd Northern Ireland. A VERY VERY LONG TIME AGO
Fry.. Ronaldo, Kane etc
Lenihan.. top champo defender
Coulson.. better than Spence. NO HE ISN'T AND COULDN'T MAKE IT IN THE SPL
Barlaser.. joint top assists. PASSENGER HERE SO FAR
Hackney.. boro Carrick
Forss.. was class last season
Crooks.. scored 10 from midfield. VERY GOOD BUT NOT A STARTER
McGree.. was class last season. NOT REALLY AND RAMSEY IS FAR BETTER
Rogers.. highly rated Man City prospect. NOT BY MAN CITY, JUST A FEW BLACKPOOL DIE-HARDS

Not sure what your seeing that isn’t working tbh

Dieng.. talk of him going to the prem. BUT HE HASN"T - talk of Zach Steffen playing.. when?
McNair.. Man Utd snd Northern Ireland. A VERY VERY LONG TIME AGO - 16th June, 19th June
Coulson.. better than Spence. NO HE ISN'T AND COULDN'T MAKE IT IN THE SPL - 7 starts last season for Djed last season?
Barlaser.. joint top assists. PASSENGER HERE SO FAR - 7 assists the first half of the season
Crooks.. scored 10 from midfield. VERY GOOD BUT NOT A STARTER - if Akpom is injured he is.. since when was 10 goals not good enough to start?
McGree.. was class last season. NOT REALLY AND RAMSEY IS FAR BETTER - he really was and Ramsey didn't make it to the end
Rogers.. highly rated Man City prospect. NOT BY MAN CITY, JUST A FEW BLACKPOOL DIE-HARDS - I'll gladly take a Man City fringe player into the Championship

very much good enough to be starting
No matter which sows ear of a team you look at on the above posts we look extremely weak and need new bodies in asap.
sows ear? we'll bring in players before the end of the window, sows ear is a bit harsh mind

You are in one of your "everything is good, whatever" moods newy.

Our squad is MUCH weaker as a result of not having Archer, Ramsey, Giles, even Mowatt.
Our team will be much weaker still, if Coulson, Barlaser and Rogers start...Crooks starts in place of Akpom and McNair starts at RB.

We may well bring in some quality and class before the end of the window - and the team may well be bolstered by that and by some injuries healing (Akpom, Howson, Dijksteel).
It has been a very underwhelming window so far.

I think Forss is our only genuine CF so him up top for me. McGree central, Silvera left, Jones right. Don't see a starting place for Crooks or the other newbies to be honest.

I agree with newy. You can't compare the squad at the start of this season vs. the end of last season. Every team in the league has a weaker team going into the first game. We didn't bring Archer or Ramsey in till January.

Coventry have lost their best player in Gyokeres - and replaced him with Ellis Simms (massive step down).
Sunderland have lost their best player in Diallo - and replaced him with Bradley Dack (even bigger step down).
Blackburn have lost Brereton Diaz and Bradley Dack on free transfers - signed a couple of unknowns.

Preston were up there last season... They've lost both their strikers in Tom Cannon and Troy Parrott - replaced them with Will Keane and some unknown Liverpool U21 striker.

Swansea have lost one of their best strikers in Obafemi - Ryan Manning who got 10 assists from RB - and one of their starting CBs.

Hahaha.. one of them moods!

Archer - didn’t sign on loan till January
Ramsey - didn’t sign on loan till January
Giles - we will replace him.. nee worries
Mowett - was injured half the season

We’ve brought in some potentially brilliant signings.. folks are over hyping last seasons loans who didn’t cut it in the playoffs.. at the same time our new signings are being drastically under appreciated.

Ramsey - Rogers
Walker - Silvera
Muniz - Gilbert
Hall - Van Den Burg
Lumley - Dieng
Daniels - Glover
Roberts - Jones
Fisher - Agyemang
Bola - Coulson returned
Mowett - Hackney matured

‘Our transfer disasters’ - incoming

Archer - a 1 in 3 striker for the full season
Giles - a left back that can defend

Dijksteel - Agyemang can cover
Smith - McNair can cover
Howson - Payero can cover
Akpom - Crooks can cover
Coburn - Hoppe or Nkrumah

Agyemang is a very good player, McNair is proven, Payero was up there when we had him and in a better place now, Crooks will score goals.. very much underrated. Coburn, injured? was out on loan last season.. could probably do with another loan.

What do we have at our disposal? A fantastic young exciting managerial set up Carrick, Woodgate and Danks.. a genuine recruitment team and FIVE loan spots with a reputation for picking up very good players in on loan.

We’ll start off better than we started last season and we gave the resources to have a squad better than the one that finished the season.. before the window closes.

Our worries seem to be:

Ryan Giles joins a premier league club
Chuba Akpom joins a Ligue 1 club
Cameron Archer stays at Villa
Aaron Ramsey stays at Villa
Tommy Smith is out for a long spell

worse case scenario FIVE LOANS.. does anyone remember last season? We have improved our squad this summer and we can still bring in FIVE LOANS

Conclusion:
Giles isn’t ours snd we can sign a left back
Akpom did well last year..
Archer has got half a season in him
Ramsey has been replaced
Smith might be alright

Coventry are signing some good players.. looks like Sunderland are too..

Leicester might be a shock not sure if they can ‘do a Burnley’ they feel a bit more like Watford. Leeds are throwing money around.. they have a bit of the Stoke about them. Southampton look like their in good nick for the championship.. solid Sheffield United vibes.

Milwall will suffer if they lose Zian Flemming.

If we get a few tweaks right.. WE could do a Burnley.

Middlesbrough - promotion form before xmas and we've improved our squad
Southampton - solid players, solid manager
———————
Coventry - they did well last season and I think they've made some astute signings
Sunderland - they'll improve on last year, Mowbray works the percentages.. extra experience = extra points
Leeds - quality players in this squad
Leicester - big club, big players, unproven manager.. could be this season's big hype..
Thats a midtable team sadly.
it's not

The problem I see with Coventry is they've been overachieving because of how good Gyokeres and Hamer have been.
They've made good signings with Lautibeaudiere and Dasilva on free transfers (I'd have loved them both at Boro), and I like Ellis Simms, but he definitely doesn't fill that massive Gyokeres-shaped hole in the team.

Sunderland's window I'd put on par with ours... They've signed some young players who look alright but only time will tell. Not sure on Bradley Dack - I wouldn't have wanted him here.

Mowbray will get a tune out of Bradley Dack.. a very astute signing. he got two seasons out of stewart downing playing him to his strengths.

Coventry are very much under the radar Milan van Ewijk is a very good signing, Tatsuhiro Sakamoto has all the makings of a hidden gem..

Callum O'Hare.. surely he's due a return at some point?

In all we bought we still dont look like we will walk this league we are still working to a budget so the rest to come in will be loans just hope they are of better quality than what we have.
