I don't want to drop Clarke but it isn't that long after a injury that nearly ended his career, and I think outside of league matches we put Manu into cotton wool he is so important to us, its a pity I like him to keep scoring against Leeds

Any other team we were playing I would agree, he is probably desperate be out on that pitch on Wednesday.
 
I would expect a few changes but definitely not wholesale, carrick will be aware that 4 thousand travelling fans won't take kindly to seeing a reserve team getting bumped by dirty Leeds.

I remember that McLaren was saying that he once fielded a 'weakened' team in the Cup and Gibson went crazy, telling him we are a team that looks to go as far as possible in that competition. I think there'll be two or three changes rather than wholesale

We need to rotate but with players who we still want around the first team to get games into them., with Howson coming on for Morris or HH at HT.
 
I'd like to see a relatively strong team. There's no way it will be wholesale changes. You need that threat of continuity.
I'm going to guess that it'll be the same team other than,
Coburn for ELL
Burgzorg for Riley
Lenihan for Clarke

...with the changes during the game being,
Hamilton for Izzy
Howson for Morris
Gilbert for Azaz
Finch for Coburn

But, who knows...!? - Probably not me 😅
 
Surprised so many think Sol will start in goal when Glover was the one selected to be on the bench v Swansea.

I'd be tempted with a lot of changes. It's a competition we could do without, to be fair, even after last seasons incredible cup run.

As mentioned on another thread, theres no way MC will make 10 changes. Or anything near to that.
4 max.
Take out the players most prone to breaking down after long injuries. Get the partnerships together still so they can click more, make changes on the periphery.

I think it will be more than 4 but less than 10.

More like 6 or 7.

I expect Glover, Lenihan, Barlaser, Burgzorg, Hamilton and Coburn to start as a minimum.

Howson will if fit enough

Then Dijksteel, McCabe, Gilbert, Finch and Matthews are all possibilities.

I do think he'll leave 3 or 4 in just for a bit of continuity.
