Tav - so I'll ask it again...

He's still not performing to his best, but he's getting there and even at 80% a nailed on starter every week.

Worked his nuts off today and was involved throughout - give him another few games and he'll be even better.

Mmm - I think a new midfielder signed in January takes Tav’a place . Howson playing better than ever. Crooks linking really well with Jones. Tav is all bluster but little quality. Again the lowest Boro scorer today. 6/10 when everyone was 7 or more. Imagine what a quality player in his spot could do for us?

100% agree

I suppose it might be best to look at Wilders opinion.

And as I expect we’d all agree that Wilder knows a thing or two about soccer ball.

And as far as I can remember he’s started him every game / pretty much every game? I’d have to say I’ll go off Wilders opinion.

Enthusiasm and lots of running about alone doesn't make a good player. Must have been watching a different match, he was shocking today, nearly gifted them a goal with his usual poor passing, fouling and losing possession. Must be replaced along with Lumley who similarly is an accident waiting to happen

That is so unfair, Tavernier wasn't remotely shocking today.
He made some very important tackles and interceptions, and played much better passes.
I have been critical recently, but fair is fair, he had a bloody good match today.

Tav is no where near a premier league player!

I disagree. Good player having a not so good season. The last 2 seasons before this one he's been our best player IMO. Attacks and defends, loads of energy, good attitude. It's not been coming off for him this season but he's never bottled it and cried off sick, or stopped taking on shots/corners/free kicks. A lesser player could coast along not making themselves such a target for criticism. Eventually his luck will turn and he'll be back to looking our best player.
