Tav - so I'll ask it again...

Poor? Not sure I see it like that at all. It wasn't as free flowing as sunday, but we dug in and won when we were at our best. Thankfully this is a team that can win when its not at 100%, but poor we were not.
That's fine, that's your opinion. In my opinion we weren't at the races today and we were fortunate to escape with a win.

They didn't need to make it difficult, we did that ourselves. It wasn't a great performance at all - a good result yes, but we looked disjointed and unbalanced.

Come on, get real. It's the Championship and it's an away game. You don't always get to have things all go your own way. We're not Real Madrid. It was a tough match, as it was always going to be. The players selected did really well. I don't think there's much to criticise Tav for from that one.

This thread reads like he's gonna get slated every game unless he scores or assists. Nothing else will be good enough. And even then that won't be good enough because it'll still be bad stats for the season.

Never once have I suggested you get to have things all go your own way, our performance was disjointed and the team looked unbalanced.

He hasn't done enough over an extended period of time, everyone has poor games, even a run of poor games but Tav has been poor for a long time now.

:ROFLMAO: He doesn't even take all the set pieces anyway. We had two corners if I remember correctly. Tav took one and McNair the other. Neither much good. Doubt there'll be a thread on here tonight hammering McNair though.

You forget that Wilder sees him day in day out, not just match days and there's a reason why he takes set pieces.
But his set pieces in league games are actually awful, I couldn't give a monkey's what he does in training if he can't execute in an actual league game.

Tav = very average Payero = cannot be as bad.

Doesn't even make sense. If Tavs "very average" surely half the players around are worse and half are better. If half the players going are worse then of course it's possible Payero could be as bad as "very average". 🤷‍♂️

McNairs aren't up to much either. Next time we're awarded a corner we should just gracefully refuse it. (y)

Tav took two and both went straight our way past the back post, McNair one was dangerous to the middle of the goal

McNair took a dreadful free kick that hit the first man however
True, it was much closer to the goal being right in the edge of the box than those he usually swings in, I was very surprised someone else didn’t take it as I said it is too close for him to take

We've been poor at dead ball situations for a few seasons now. 4/10 at best one area we have to improve on. For me McNair edges it so until someone comes along who is better we should stick with him taking them.

I'm not sure some of you are really Boro fans. I was brought up on the notion that Boro fans will always get behind someone who gives 100%. Tav gives that every game, I'd like to see the stats on how much ground Tav covers in that midfield role, I bet its more than Pajero in the games he started. Before anyone comes back with 'giving 100% isn't enough' or 100% should be a given', I've seen enough players over the years not giving as much as 5%. Gestede, Ramirez, Yakubu, Kitson, Thompson, etc etc.
As well as that if Blackpool had won that game they would be 3 points behind us so they aren't a bad side and I thought they gave us a difficult game.
