Tapas, you can only choose two.

Well I think at a push there's only 2 "things" on those menus that you'd get on a tapas menu here - looks like a load of stuff that someone has decided to put on a cover your @rse mediterranean menu for the Brits

I don't think your a snob, just wouldn't touch those tapas on that menu, they will probably be guess work at what the flavours of the Spanish style dishes woul be, sometimes Spanish Tapas are just very simple but very exceptional, I was in Cuenca( Spanish Town) last month and my partner( who is Spanish) pointed to a little notice on a door they had Segovia style belly pork, which was only three euros, we popped in and had a tapas size of crispy but succulent belly pork, sometimes the best tapas come in places which normally don't do tapas from a menu but maybe a little selection to go free with your drinks or maybe as in this case just a one off special.

Segovia style belly pork,

Edit :

"....they will probably be guess work at what the flavours of the Spanish style dishes woul be, sometimes Spanish Tapas are just very simple but very exceptional"

That's exactly what they are, especially when they're for the Spanish, not the tourists, and primarily an accompaniment to drinks, not a meal - very small plates of local sausage, albondigas (no extra "bits"), Malaga salad (cod, potatoes and orange slices - honestly, you haven't lived until you've tried this) etc. There are tapas bars in Malaga that I wouldn't go anywhere near

Cabrito Estufado and Pollo Marbella for me, but I’d probably try and nick a piece of someones Pork Souvlaki

Albondigas and Costillas De Cerdo.
(and at least 4 others if out with the Mrs)

Lamb on the bone and dolma for me.
Black pudding would normally be my first choice, but as already pointed out it's not just the traditional Spanish fare.

Not very tapasy is it? Greek and English with a hint of Spain and Italy.

However, playing the game I’d go for the calamari and the gambas al ajioli

Slight variation on a theme, but we were at a Cretan taverna last week, for a few drinks and a few meze “appetisers”. There was a table of 6/8 next to us with a load of guys sipping beer/wine/ouzo and the table was constantly getting replenished with dishes of all shapes and sizes. Within an hour or so, some of the blokes had said their goodbye, but others had turned up and just got stuck in to the food and drink. We were there for a couple of hours, and by the time we left, there must have been 12-15 different people who’d enjoyed the copious delights.
we asked Alena, the girl who ran the place, what was going on. She said that, once a month, this extended family had an open table on a Thursday night. They ordered the entire menu to be served over 3 hours 3 times over, and the family were all welcome to come and enjoy at any time. They got free beer and ouzo, but had to bring their own wine, and paid her €240, so effectively about €15 a head.
what a wonderful way to spend an evening with friends and family
