Will Wigan withdraw their appeal if they stay up by other teams losing?
You'd guess so, but I don't see them beating Fulham.
That is as I understand it. The points will only be deducted this season if they are in the bottom 3 as a consequence of the deduction. Otherwise it rolls over to next seasonI thought if they stayed despite the deduction then the points deduction is applied next season.
yep that, and us winning, would be an ideal end
I think it was in the STimes that Wigan said they would withdraw their appeal if they were saved by the losses of other clubs.
Opposite way round...if they were in the bottom 3 by rights then the deduction rolls over to next year. If they end up outside the bottom 3 then they lose 12 points this season (pending appeal). That is as I understand it. No the points will be deducted whatever tonight. The only time they could have been deducted next season was if they had finished in the bottom 3 without the penalty. Which obviously is not the case. That is as I understand it. The points will only be deducted this season if they are in the bottom 3 as a consequence of the deduction. Exactly. It's obvious. The reason that ruling is there is to prevent teams cut adrift at the bottom of the table from entering administration to take the "punishment" at a convenient time that will have no consequence to them. Other than that, the points deduction is applied the same season the team enters administration. I don't understand how this needs clearing up every day.No the points will be deducted whatever tonight.
