Swansea away tickets on sale @ 3pm

What rewards do gold card holders get ?
I've been one for as long as I can remember and other than the free drink which I don't have time to use anyway there aren't any are they ?

EB - not sure there are still more unreleased blocks to come. When I said at least 500 tickets still to sell there was a complete unreleased block. That block is now released giving 6 blocks in total. There maybe only around 230 tickets left in total.

All - We sold out WBA, Burnley, Norwich, Sunderland, Birmingham, Sheffield United - without any going on general sale or only a very few. Luton, Huddersfield and Rotherham will sell out to Season ticket holders only. Thus 14 games out of 23 likely to go to general sale/low priority points. I think that's a record low for us in the Championship.
I'm not meaning to be dead picky, but even if only a few went on general sale, they can't really be counted as games that didn't make general sale can they?

Why should it be addressed, it's a nice little reward for the fans who stuck with the club in darker days.
Because those two levels are currently a closed shop.

The free drink came into force at the start of 2016/17 (providing you had a season ticket the year before). So basically anyone with a season ticket since 2016/17 doesn't qualify, yet may have had their season ticket just 1 year less than someone who does qualify.

Same with the Gold Card Status. Only those who have had a season ticket since the Riverside Opened - 1995/96 qualify for the 80 loyalty points per year....yet we have supporters who have been a season card holder for 20+ years who don't qualify, at no fault of their own, due to them not even being born back then!

I agree both that there should be a gold card status and chairman's drink status, however it shouldn't be a closed shop.

For example, MFC could easily restructure the loyalty points reward to:

Season ticket holders for 20 years consecutively - Gold Card Status
Season ticket holders for 5 years consecutively - Chairman's Drink Status.

It definitely needs addressing, as it's just not fair - and that's from someone who qualifies for Gold Card Status.

The free drink came into force in 2013 when gates were at an all time low for the Riverside era and was stopped for new season ticket holder in 2016 for the start of our last Premier League season when the crowds increased and the club didn't need to offer any incentives and probably shouldn't attract extra priority points as it was short term offer and it is ia little reward for loyalty.
I agree about the gold card scheme though and your reasoning behind it.

Ah, sorry yes. I stand corrected regarding the free drink. We did receive it earlier.

The free drink incentive with a season ticket stopped in 2016/17 for new season card holders is what I meant to say. And so far those new season ticket holders who we've kept since 2016/17 don't receive the free drink.

I still think even if the free drink continues for those season card holders prior to 2016/17, the loyalty points should be addressed though.

Season card holders since 1995/96 guaranteed to be on 160 points minimum each year.
Season card holders since 2015/16 guaranteed to be on 150 points minimum each year.

Those two levels need to be addressed so the younger generation have a chance of qualifying for those levels.

Both levels are a closed shop and it's wrong.

If you're under 27 years old, then it's impossible for you to start on 160 points minimum each season without attending away games or home cup games. That's ridiculous IMO. Some 25 year olds could easily have had a season ticket since they were 5/6 years old?

I know I got my first season ticket at the age of 5. And I know I'd be a bit miffed off if I had it for 20 years consecutively and I still wasn't entitled to 'gold card status' all because I wasn't born a few years earlier!

I can see both sides of the argument on this and have just fallen foul of the gold card and the extra points. I'd had a season ticket since 1992 so was a gold card member until I gave up the season ticket this season for the first time in 30 years. I moved down to London for work 6 years ago and kept my season card, travelling back for all the weekend games, and it still made it worthwhile getting a season card even with missing the weekend games, as it was cheaper than match by match. With the increase of season tickets last year, and the disappearance of loads of the cheaper advance train tickets, plus a few of our games been moved, I made the decision not to renew, as it was costing me a small fortune. I knew that I would then lose the Extra points when I decide to renew again in the future, and i guess it was my decision. It's just a strange feeling knowing that when I do renew again, even being a season card holder for 30 years, you lose all the privileges of that for missing a couple and can never get it back with the current system.

I don't think any system is perfect, however I can think of much worse ones than what we currently operate as a club.

14 matches where tickets get to general sales, is more of a positive than a negative to me.

Some clubs operate with nearly all away games for season ticket holders only e.g Liverpool. They also had a waiting list for season tickets for home games. How would posters feel if they were a new Liverpool fan?

Ref: Gold season tickets - no debate for me, entitlement to this should be rolling. I would also introduce a rolling silver season ticket holder for 10 years as a ST holder.

97 Swansea away tickets left at present - looking like a record ever Boro following, for a league game in South Wales.

6 blocks of the stand behind the left hand goal almost filled. (North Stand).

I agree as a gold member, someone who meets the 20 years criteria should gain gold status otherwise it is a closed shop

When we get promoted by May - next season they`l be one hell of a clamour for every Prem away game.
They`l be a lot more disappointed Boro fans.
:(

I know its financially dificult for a lot of people to renew through early bird, but if you don't and we did get promoted (currently around 40% chance) you are excluding yourself from away games in the Premier league.

One option for some on renewing is to trade down to a cheaper area of the stadium. You keep the same rights to away games.

Exeter - There must be 9 blocks for away fans as we have sold from 6 blocks already - 9 blocks looks almost all the North Stand too @ approx 220 tickets per block. I assumed we only had 6 blocks.

Liberty Stadium has an official capacity of 21,000 too - I would expect North Stand to be close to 4,000 seats which is a bit puzzling as we have being given only 1,975.
