Surely Dieng has to start today

On balance Tom Glover has done OK between the sticks since Dieng has been out injured. He's made some blinding saves , but he's also been beaten too easily , particularly in recent games. He had a howler diving over the ball at the near post to give Sunderland a point at the Riverside and had a real stinker against Bristol. To have any chance of making 6th we're going need to win 10 of 14 games. Momentum is everything and I feel that reintroducing our number 1 would be a massive step in the right direction, sort of feels like a new signing.

I'm also hoping that Latte Lath comes back like a man possessed and starts banging them in from the off. Think its the only way we've got any chance of making the play offs.

Carrick made baffling comments in the press conference about Dieng being fully fit for a while now and that he just thinks Glover has played well enough to keep the shirt.

He absolutely hasn't, especially not when he's a second choice keeper and Dieng was one of our best performers before getting injured.

Ah right I hadn’t heard those comments as it’s clear dieng is and was bought as our no 1 so surely if he’s fit he plays regardless.

Team sheet today could be interesting esp if LL is as fit as rumoured.

I'm hoping it's just kidology with him trying to give Glover a boost before he's rightly replaced, but Carrick does occasionally have a tendency to stick with players that aren't performing well enough.

Happy with Tom Glover tbh he has done well enough to maybe keep the shirt, I think Dieng may start today though.

I would not be surprised to see Glover keep the shirt today - not because he’s better but because i think Dieng is either still not for enough or he’s on the naughty step

Why do people think Dieng is on the naughty step? Because he was fit enough initially to go to AFCON while missing games for us?

Play offs are gone man ffs. Just enjoy the game and don't worry about the play offs.

I've seen nothing from Glover to suggest he's good enough to be a starting keeper. He's good enough that I wouldn't be too worried if Dieng wasn't fit and he had to start but that's it. If Dieng isn't playing because Carrick prefers Glover I would be surprised. If it's because he has fallen out with Dieng for whatever reason then I'd be disappointed but he's a good keeper and he suits the way we play.
