The GRFZ is too cheap. They should not extend the offer or the area of the ground where it is available.
Cheaper Kids tickets all over the stadium and lower Match day prices is better than GRFZ.
Gives more choice and is not self constraining like the GRFZ.

The price increase the club has put forward can absolutely be justified. Even as it is it will not cover the elements of the club's cost base that have definitely been impacted by inflation. So take out Players wages and the cost of buying players (amortisation) and the value of the SC increase will not cover inflation on the rest of the cost base.
I would hope the Match day prices do not increase, thus narrowing the gap to SC prices by match especially on EB.
But the idea of the GRFZ is that is not just a match ticket it is a whole zone given over to families. Am trying to avoid using the word experience. But remember they have activities that start from around 12 noon. It is really like a Saturday Boro club for the kids. As I understand there can be literacy and structured learning going on as well as entertainment and concourse fun. It wins awards because it is a really good idea.

Put a plan together to paint the chemical plant wall between the 2 subways with Boro murals . That is an eyesore seen by the majority coming to the game and leaving .
A Boro picture museum .
Get council funding and a fan collection.

Who owns the wall?

That would be class.. pretty sure EVERY fan walking past that thinks something could be done. The panels are ideal as well! There used to be a lot of Grant money available for work that combined art and sport.. a weird combination but they were in fact cutting funding for both and this is what came of it. Plenty of iconic moments that could be captured in each on of those panels.. Juninho vs Philippe Albert, Massimo’s flying header.. that carrier bag blowing round on the pitch that happened to be the most entertains moment of Gordon Strachan’s tenure.

Looking to get at least one Boro mural in town next year and a whole series of Boro signs linking the town and Riverside - fan images on them hopefully.
Need to find who owns the wall, probably the chemical works.
I think you can order the deeds from the land registry website for a couple of quid..

Rob, apologies if mentioned on here already, but noticed that Sunderland are the latest club to introduce digital season tickets for next season. Is this something Boro have looked into? Lost count the amount of times i've forgot my season card!

Boro have a big problem with the turnstiles. Many need replacing. I think at that point the ground has to be set up for technology changes. Also the ticketing system will be out to tender again so once more there are possibilities going forward. But how would Sunderland's system be different to ours? Is it the info that can be carried in the card because it is instant to gain entry with a very quick scan.

It may have been a good idea, but is subsidised by the rest of the crowd - and of course Gibson.
It is now a closed shop, people can't get into it.
To extend that zone would be stupid.
To extend the offer elsewhere would also break with the whole "experience" thing.
I think it was a good idea that has trapped the club now.

I'd much rather more kids went with their parents all over the stadium at an encouraging price rather than the GRFZ scheme extended.

I have no idea what Sunderland's is but all a ticket is these days is a barcode so all the turnstile needs to be is a scanner. Seems the problem currently is that the scanner is fixed so the solution would be scanners that can be a bit more flexible. Not exactly something that should break the bank.

Access to the ground is and always has been shocking. For most that walk to the town to and from the game is fine but not enjoyable. For older fans it is a nightmare especially in the winter months. We built two new roads into stadium but close both prior to and after kick off. I asked this before and was told its down to pedestrian safety but take a look at Shepherdson Way before kick off and 95% of people stick to the pavements.
Why can we noy have aone way system in prior to game and reversed after game. With access for buses and taxi's. The access is worse at probably about 75-80% of other grounds you go to but you are able to get transport closer to ground at most of them.
Should be buses and taxis queueing up at ground at the final whistle.

I’ve noticed lots of older fans leaving early after with their grandchildren.. I’ve been told it’s to beat the crush/traffic.. I haven’t really considered it to be an access issue which it probably is. Able bodied and in good health, hearing and sight the walk back is congested and can involve a handrail to the goolies if I’m talking and not paying attention.

In your opinion.

You don't know that though.
