Following continual bad behaviour in the away section at Stadium of Light.

Just read this report about it from the Cardiff City FSA Rep -

Sunderland have banned away fans from bringing coins and vapes into the Stadium of Light.

The new measures have been introduced after an increase in disorder this season, including Championship matches at home to Coventry City and Burnley.

All away supporters will now be searched before entering the ground and anyone found possessing these items will be asked to discard them.

The changes will come into effect this Saturday at home to Cardiff City.

Away supporters at the Stadium of Light are currently housed in the upper tier of the North Stand, although Sunderland said they would consider moving them.

There have been a number of incidents in which visiting spectators have throw items such as bottles, pyrotechnics and coins into the home fans seated in the tier below.

The club said in a statement that there will be increased stewarding and enhanced lighting in the away section, aligned to improvements in the CCTV to better identify anti-social behaviour.

Any vapes found will be discarded, while coins will be donated to the away club's nominated charity.

"We have today introduced further measures to enhance fan safety at the Stadium of Light following the recent conduct of a small minority of away supporters," the Black Cats said.

"This follows an engagement session with our Supporters' Groups, who met with the club last week to discuss and agree upon the next steps taken to address the continually escalating societal behavioural issues currently impacting SAFC and many other clubs."

Are vapes being used to carry in other substances, perhaps? They won't cause so many smoke issues as pyrotechnics, after all.

I wonder if Newcastle have similar issues with away fans being so far above home fans. It seems too strict, but you'd want Boro to do something if it was happening to home fans at the Riverside.

Get into the 21st century grandad.

😂
No seriously we must fight tooth and nail to keep our cash, if it goes then it will give governments even more power to control what we spend things on, or even deny you the right to spend your own money. Think of all the things that involve the exchange of cash, and there are many, it would destroy so many things we take for granted now.

Admire your conviction but you are fighting a losing battle. You may want to keep cash but it will be gone completely in 20 years if not earlier. Kids wont want bits of metal and paper to pay for things.

No i don’t think so - once people see they’ve lost control of the very money they earn there will be a massive push back for cash again. We should always have that choice to pay for things with notes and coins

This seems ridiculous to me. You can throw anything at the opposition supporters if you are that way inclined.
