Subbuteo or Super Striker?

had a league with another player and had numbers pasted on the base s....o we knew who the scorers were ... league and top scorers ... always remember John O Rourke been top when he played for Coventry ... Dougan was the tops for me as I had Wolves

I had the 1970s Boro kit too, but my favourite was Hartford Bicentennials as it was the same strip as my cubs/scouts teams that I played for (2nd Normanby....quality team!). It was the same strip as the 70s TV series called "Striker" if anyone remembers it?

Geoff Hinsliff (Don Brennan in Corrie) was in it IIRC...he was was footballer who's career was ended. He was bitter about it, and he didn't want his brilliant prospect son involved in football.
Joe Gladwin was in it too I think.

Great kids programme.

Remember the original subbuteo where the the players were 2d instead of 3d, also when you broke a man and glued him back to the base he was a little bit shorter than the others.
Our Dad used to use the hob to melt the players legs then stick it back on the base. Not only did they end up shorter, they often leaned to one side and has bizarre lower bodies 🙂

Yeah, my fans looked like they were all wearing tie die T-shirts. I remember the scoreboard and having teams like Admira Wacker, Ljubljana and Young Boys. The Astro turf was a game changer, also remember tgetting the Italia 90 nets (so deep the ball took a couple of seconds to kit the back of the net), and also getting the shirt number transfers
Yeah I had the USA 94 versions too

Also the Adidas Tango balls! Classic football.

I remember having the throw in and corner takers too. Both absolutely useless.

Blow football was alway my first football game. Simple and interactive. Talking of blow footballl this would have been fun.
