Story emerging Spurs are messing about re Spence

We will sell him or we wont. I suspect if we do then the entire fee will be spent on Gykores. If we dont we will still get Gayle/Armstrong/Another on loan, in addition to a premier league goalkeeper. Looks like we already have Lenihan signed up on a free. Thats the bulk of what we need and we would be looking strong.

If Spurs were starting to d*ck about and try to drive the price down - despite publicly stating Conte has been given £150m+ to spend on players - I'd play the game and start stating how we are looking forward to having him back, going to be a massive asset, what a great addition to the squad he will be etc etc. If clubs know there is a problem with Boro and we don't want him of course they will be doing everything to get him at a knockdown price as they will feel they are doing us a favour taking him off our hands.

Genius plan, apart from if his agent, him or anyone associated with him tells Spurs, or any other club, that we actually don't actually want him.

£20m 17th June
£25m 24th June
£30m 1st July
£35m 8th July
£40m 15th July
£45m 22nd July
£50m 29th July

No point selling if it puts us to a disadvantage
This is what my mate does when bartering with market sellers abroad etc, if they mess about or don't move closer fast enough, then he moves his price further away.

They say £50, he says £20 (which is more like it's value), then if they mess about and only go to £45, then he says "ok, £18, I don't have time for this". He usually ends up getting what he want's for the price he thinks it should be, and just speeds up the whole process.

I've seen him get 50% off in a minute, and my other mate only get 20% off (on the exact same thing) after messing about for half an hour

Got no time for it Spurs have wads off cash and they are getting an absolute steal! It'll cost us more to sort replacements the longer the window goes on. If they want him they should pay up.. if they want to mess on they they should move on to someone else.

I don't think 20m is a steal, I think we're having their eyes out, but as there's a few interested, we may get it.

I'd drive him there for 20m, and give him a lift to Newcastle Airport for 15m. Anything over £10m soon, will be good enough.

Just hope we don't wait until the end of the window to try and squeeze them for more cash, as we could end up getting squeezed ourselves and missing out on targets.

Getting Gkokeres for £15m and selling Spence now for £15m is better than missing out on Gyokeres and selling spence for £20m at the end of the window etc.

But if we say he's not part of our plans, he's disruptive we want rid asap from a bargaining perspective we may as well start the auction at £12m and work down.
What his agent, Spence, his mam tells Spurs or any other club is irrelevant. If we say we want to keep him and build a team around him and he's under contract for 2 years it's better for us, yes? You are saying hostile transfers result in a lower fee? 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️
